Yeah, "planned baby killers" That's an example of one of my problems with the conservative Repub movement - using terminology that's more likely to inflame than inform.

The main goal of Planned Parenthood is not to provide abortion referrals (PP provides no abortion services themselves).

Actually, Aargh, Planned Parenthood does provide abortions. Nationally, they provide the majority of all abortions. Perhaps in Kansas, Planned Parenthood does not provide abortions, they don't provide the service in every state, but across the country, they do.

Unfortunately, Christian values are getting cherry-picked by conservative Repubs. Christ was rather considerate of children, widows, the poor. Sharing that attitude today gets one labeled as a lib or a Socialist.

Unless Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortion is a constitutionally protected medical procedure. It doesn't matter whether any individual is in favor or opposed to abortion. The law that governs our nation says abortion is available to those who choose it.

What is the plan for a 17-year old girl who has an unwanted pregnancy and is absolutely unable to support a child? The same group that vehemently opposes abortion also vehemently opposes government assistance to raise the unwanted child.

Talk about hyperbole. The things you said really has little to do with the Planned Patenthood issue. Have you seen a Partial Birth Abortion? Have you seen abortions (often late term to get the best parts) done to sell body parts? Why does PP and democrats not want a counseling center that helps find alternatives to abortion not to be set up next door to PP clinics. I personally know of several people who have dedicated their lives and lots of money to helping pregnant mothers find alternatives for their babies. Why should federal funds (we didn't do it when Reagan was President) be given to an abortion industry that Margaret Sanger started (read about her views).

PPH has the goal of preventing unwanted pregnancy. I don't think too many have issue with that. As part of that goal, they provide abortions to mothers. Now people begin to have issues with PPH. 84% of those services are over 20 years old per their website. So the majority of their clients are not impoverished teens; rather they are those that do or should have the means to care for a child they don't want. Then they openly advocate for third trimester abortions of viable babies. Finally, they advocate for the sale of these body-parts, meaning that they try to keep the fetus alive and intact for as long as possible in order to kill the baby and harvest the tissue. Now, it's actually illegal to sell the body parts, so they are donated to research facilities with processing and service fees associated.

PPH also provides sex-Ed, birth control options, and women's health at decreased prices. All of these services can also be had through Medicaid for the under-privileged, or through Obama-Care.

In the end it's up to each individual to decide if PPH deserves funding and to what degree it should be supported or opposed.

It's beyond frustrating and disappointing that "freedom" to do something has morphed into "the government has to provide the means for me to do what I want to be free".

I've seen signs carried by people that say, "PRAY TO END ABORTION". They want us to pray to end the effect, but not the cause. They should be carrying signs that say, "PRAY TO END FORNICATION AND ADULTERY".

Most abortions are the result of unwanted pregnancies between couples who are either committing fornication or adultery. So if you solve that problem, you solve the abortion problem.
