Rubio and Cruz, maybe some moving to Trump.

In Iowa - evangelicals are moving heavy to Cruz.

      • I'm really surprised more Carson supporters are moving toward Cruz than Rubio. I would think that Carson supporters, who have largely been drawn to him for his honesty and character, would find more of those traits in Rubio. Cruz just has a little to much "scummy lawyer" in him to be my #1 choice. If ever needed, I would love to have Cruz represent me in court as my personal lawyer, but only because I would be buying his representation of my interests for a price.

I agree that it seems logical that Carson supporters would move to Rubio. Odd.

          • I'm disappointed that Carson hasn't grown as a candidate at all. I had high hopes, but he hid under a rock and didn't seek out enough information to make informative policy suggestions. I think that hurt him in the long run, same as Trump repeating "Make America great again" started to hurt him. Difference is that Trump started talking about policy so we could get a glimpse of what ideas and style of leadership he brings to the table.

I would say Carson supporters were for the most part evangelicals. Cruz says to be President you must start your day on your knees (even if you are scummy lawyer type).

I also agree. Baffling. This really should be just a two horse race at this point: Trump and Rubio. However, Cruz did nothing to further his case last night, but Rubio was on point as usual. I got a feeling we'll see a bump for Rubio over the next week, but then the strange, invisible, and mysterious force causing Cruz to get more traction than Rubio will start to kick in again. Maybe once we figure the source of that force out, electromagnetic wave theory and gravity will finally be unified?

Well wait a minute, if you are a scummy lawyer type, being on your knees can have an entirely different meaning ...

                  • While on the campaign trail, Rubio has given some amazing explanations of his Christian faith and how it drives who he is and what he does. I'm not here to say Cruz isn't a genuine believer, just that there is absolutely no reason to believe Rubio isn't 100% authentic as well.

Rubio strikes me and more polite and likeable than Cruz, which is why I'm so surprised that the Carson crowd (fans of an extremely polite and likeable personality) aren't mostly going Rubio's way.

If I have time, I'll link to one of the videos I've seen in I can find it.

                    • Cruz talks to fast for the Carson crowd. My brain hardly keeps up with him.

Make that Rubio talks to fast. As most of you will agree, my brain some times doesn't work.

                        • Cruz is better at tapping into the anger of disaffected whites with populist rhetoric. He is really good at it and will eventually harvest a great deal of Trump's defectors IMO.

I have listened to both Rubio and Cruz personal testaments faith - they are both excellent testaments. Rubio is probably one of the best I have ever heard anybody give. If I can find a link I will post it.

                            • It's a unique year for me, where I can actually get behind the top three candidates. Generally I dispise all options. For some reason I actually like all three. Weird. Anyway I would prefer them in this order:

                              1. Rubio
                              2. Trump (can't believe I am saying this)
                              3. Cruz

Don't think I could bring myself to vote for Trump. Can't remember the last time, if ever, that I didn't vote for President.
