Seems like a bunch of idiots making a bunch of ado over nothing. The people waving the flags were idiots that wanted to use the flag as a shield. The people yelling at the flag-wavers were idiots that wanted to use their race as a shield. At least the majority of the students seemed to realize how much a non-issue this was.
But really, how could any adult justify jumping to either side? Two brain cells among the whole lot of them.

I guess I've always had this idea that the American flag is a symbol of unity among a melting pot of people, not one of "symbol of racial animus". If this were strictly about Cinco De Mayo and not about any other time, I would agree with you. I believe strongly on people honoring and remembering their heritage. However, I believe it may run much deeper than that for many on both "sides" and this special day brings it to the forefront.
