    Representative Pompeo supports attacking Syria

"I have come to be firmly convinced that if Congress votes 'no,' we would guarantee an outcome that was really bad for America," Pompeo said.
personally I don't see any outcome of this that is good for the U.S., so I see no reason to risk U.S. citizens for people who hate the U.S. on both sides. I also believe Pompeo is a Boehner little boy. I won't be voting for him next election.

Representative Huelskamp says we have no interest in the Syrian Civil War

U.S. Congressman Tim Huelskamp, representing Kansas’ First District issued the following statement in response after President Barack Obama announced his intention to seek Congressional approval to take military action against the Syrian regime in response to alleged chemical attacks against Syrian citizens: “While President Obama apparently debates how many American lives and funds he wishes

In recent days I have hosted 14 town halls, and the unanimous opinion of Kansans has been clear: stay out of this quagmire. I agree. I have seen no evidence of an American national interest in this Syrian civil war. Just like his misadventures in Libya in 2011 – which I opposed – President Obama risks American lives, property and prestige by injecting us into Syria.”
Representative Yoder says No (for now)

“I do not believe a military attack against Syria is warranted at this time.” — Kansas Congressman Kevin Yoder, an Overland Park Republican.

Representative Lynn Jenkins opposes U.S. Military Action

“While the recent chemical attack on Syrian citizens is an atrocious crime, it is still unclear who is on the other side of this conflict. As such, I am opposed to the United States entering into military action in Syria. The United States of America cannot continue to act as the world’s police force in areas of the world where our help is not wanted.
Senator Pat Roberts opposes Military Action in Syria

Following the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations’ consideration of a resolution authorizing use of military force in Syria, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts today reaffirmed his opposition to military strikes in the Syrian conflict. “I appreciate the deliberation of this important resolution in the Senate, but unfortunately, the resolution does not address my concerns about the goals of such an attack nor the details of our nation’s involvement, today and in the future,” Roberts said.

Pompeo may have just assured this district's return to the blue. Sad.

I'm still skeptical about what the outcome will be after bombing and then walk away claiming some type of victory. Assad still stays in power.

We could've done something 2 years ago but Obama didn't want to ruin his re-election. Now he's trying to mess up re-election for people in congress.

Were there chemical attacks 2 years ago? I don't follow the events in Syria that closely. We don't need to attack Syria now and if there were no chemical attack 2 years ago, we definitely didn't need to attack Syria then.

From what I've read online, Syria started using chemical weapons on citizens in December 2012 despite having them since the 1980's. I realize that's a month after the elections here but this whole mess started in March 2011.

Disappointed in Mike. From everything I've read and heard, few Kansans support any action on this.

From what I have heard (and seen) Pompeo is about pleasing the republican establishment, not his constituents.

Pompeo sits on the Intelligence committee, IIRC.

He might be aware of classified information, or he's become well connected to Tanker Todd's military industrial complex donors.

If you represent a district with defense contractors, you're probably going to be a warhawk. Too bad he's not more concerned about the lives of soldiers stationed at the base within his district.
