The national debt passed the $36 trillion threshold in November for the first time ever, as the combined debt held by the U.S. public and the federal government grows.
Republican presidents have added slightly more to the national debt per term than Democratic presidents, according to inflation-adjusted data from the U.S. Treasury Department and the Bureau of Labor Statistics dating back to 1913.
Looking at U.S. presidents since 1913, Republican presidents added about $1.4 trillion per four-year term, compared to $1.2 trillion added by Democrats.

According to Bloomberg, Peterson called himself a Rockefeller Republican, “conservative on fiscal matters and moderate to liberal on social issues.” 8
Peterson’s primary concerns were increases in the national debt fueled by rising costs of Social Security and Medicare. In a 1984 interview in the Harvard Business Review, Peterson said, “we need to bring down the federal deficit” and “the added costs of our aging society and the entitlement programs that go to the aged are staggering…our aging society is a fiscal and economic time bomb. The tax revenues necessary to pay for these entitlement programs for the elderly and our deficit largesse will be economically, politically, and I think morally unsustainable.” 9
Unplug from Faux Reality News, "Conservative Talk Radio", Trump (FFS), and other contributories to the War On Information. The truth is out there if you'll seek it... and the truth shall set you free!
Attempts to compare debt like this are useless. It treats all debt created by each President as equal.
Two presidents alone -- FDR and LBJ -- have created more debt burdens than all other Presidents since 1913 COMBINED. They literally created the worst nightmare possible: A recurring debt burden with exponential growth.
Example ... in 2023 total spending was $6.2T ... but ...
Social Security was $1.4 trillion (22% of spending)
Medicare/Medicaid was $1.9 trillion (30% of spending)
... so over 50% of Biden's spending can be directly attributed to FDR and LBJ by themselves for 2023 alone.

W's, or Bum's or Cheeto's SS/Medicare is not FDR and LBJ's SS/Medicare.
The growth in debt hasn't exactly been linear.
Unbalancing the budget started in the 80's with Reagan and hasn't stopped or barely even slowed down much except for Clinton and Biden's recent term.
Debt accumulated under Trump at nearly 3x the rate of his predecessors.
America needs to either reverse course on spending or increase taxes. Simple.
Republicans = lower taxes (proportionately higher on the affluent/corps), then SPEND!
Democrats = raise taxes on the corps and affluent, then SPEND!

Also, creating medicare/SS was the right thing to do. The conditions our seniors existed in were absolutely horrendous prior. Now corporate America has mostly killed the pension so they are even more vulnerable.

The “Great Society” by LBJ during a time of extreme high economic prosperity in America, was supposed to end poverty in America. Instead it produced free housing, in high rises that people didn’t own, so who cared if they were taken care of. Today, these housing projects are violent war zones, and drug infested dens of gang warfare. Here are the negatives to the 1964 “Great Society”.
I'm an Econ guy. I definitely understand the folly of giving free **** to people and the waste/disincentive to work that can ensue.
To give you an idea of how I feel about safety nets: I would absolutely require implantable birth control and demonstrable actions for economic self-improvement from people who are currently receiving welfare.

True or false?

Partially true? There are plenty of sites detailing the timeline of SS as well as Medicare. Many presidents from both parties had a hand in the growth of the massive entitlements that I think most would agree were necessary. W made a big contribution to the cost w/ the prescription drug plan.
But your current statement doesn't bolster the weakness in the premise of your initial argument.
The rate of growth of the national debt slowed with Clinton, after HW, and then Biden, after Trump.
Obviously Trump had the beginning of the pandemic, and HW had the gulf war. But Bum literally nationalized healthcare and inherited the Great Recession.
It's common knowledge that modern Republicans (and Trumpers) are RHINO's and will spend w/ the best of 'em. The Dems at least raise taxes to cover their expenditures.
