Seems like a father did what most fathers would have done in the same position. Joe did let Hunter twist in the wind for a while though. I suspect half the members of Congress would earn similar charges if an intense political light were shown on them.

I knew very little about Hunter Gate until reading the first article in this thread. Seems most crimes were fairly petty all things considered. "Lying" on an FFL form? LoL! The important point is that the guy kept his mouth shut and let things play out. Trump does things a little differently.. which is why he's always in trouble.

Yes, the President will get to abuse his pardon power, but that's a small price to pay for when he legitimately uses it. When a pardon is legit you don't want to leave any wiggle room for prosecutors, politicians, and other assholes to double jeopardize, witch hunt, or legally bankrupt the person indefinitely. It needs to be a sweeping power.
