Israel attack was very minor to send a message that unlike Iran attack where air defense won, Iran air defense can be exploited.

officially, Israel will not accept responsibility for this attack for strategic reasons. Sources explain that the Iranians claim it was an “explosion at a factory” because they wish to avoid escalation. Israeli sources told the Post that it's unclear why the Pentagon disclosed to the American media that Israel was involved; they could have remained silent, they say. They could have preserved Iran's dignity and avoided escalating the situation on their own.

The starvation is getting so bad in Gaza that the aid trucks are bringing in cigarettes. Historically speaking, free Marlboros have been part of most genocides.

I'm with 72 above. Hamas is looking to destroy and eliminate Israel, and after that that same goal will be on America.
So wipe them out now before they wipe out Israel and the US.

I am all for a proportional response. The Hamasholes stated objective is the total destruction and elimination of Israel and the Jewish people worldwide, not to mention death to America. So a proportional response would be obvious.

The House wants to force the Dems and the WH to punish Iran. Even House Dems are not following Biden in his bid to walk a tight rope that he supports Israel (iron clad) while looking the other way on Iran who may have pushed them too far this time. They will force the Senate Democrats to make a choice on a vote to show support on either Iran or Israel.

I saw this morning that House Jewish Democrats were helping push the vote. Joe won't do it unless he is forced, which because he's such a "wuss", is probably his hope.

"House GOP leaders have retooled their floor schedule to punish Iran for its missile attack on Israel over the weekend, but Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has yet to signal how he will move foreign aid for the Jewish state that he vowed to pass this week.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) unveiled an updated schedule for the week ahead late Sunday night, scrapping plans to focus on the Biden administration’s energy efficiency standards for appliances.

The new calendar includes a slew of legislative items related to Iran after Israel and its Western partners intercepted hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones. The strike marked the first-ever direct attack on Israel from Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East as Israel wages a war on the Hamas militant group that began in October.

Of the 17 bills related to Iran and Israel, 11 of them are expected to be brought to the floor under suspension of the rules, meaning they’ll require a two-thirds majority to pass the lower chamber. The other six will go through the House Rules Committee, allowing for debate among lawmakers before being considered on the floor. Those will only require a simple majority to pass.

Some of the measures deal with sanctions, while others denounce Iran or reiterate support for Israel. Johnson has yet to unveil the bill for aid to Israel, though the major question is whether he will pair it with tens of billions for Ukraine as the White House has demanded."

It’s unclear whether an aid package for Israel would also include provisions for Ukraine, which could determine whether lawmakers support the legislation.

I believe the whole thing was an excuse to test China's/Irans weaponry. Although it failed they still shot at our ally. If you were wearing a bullet proof vest and you were shot at but it hit the vest would you retaliate? If you had snakes living in your basement would you exterminate? Israel has snakes living in and around their own house.

Trump tolerated it. There was no response from the U.S. when Iran launched their ballistic missiles at U.S. troops in Iraq. Trump refused to respond. All Trump did was tweet "all is well" and say, "Ready to engage in serious negotiations with Iran without preconditions to avert war." It took several weeks for the Pentagon to come clean, but over 110 U.S. soldiers had traumatic brain injuries from the attack, with 18 having to be medevac to Germany.

Last night's attack looks to have been a total failure by Iran. In part because the Pentagon had set up a regional air defense network between the U.S., Britain, France, Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
