Well of course he does. All dumb asses get in line behind their leader.

Jordan only got 200 during the first vote. I expected that number to be around 207-211 with a few "protest" votes, then a quick 2nd vote where he gets the needed 217, probably 219.

However, it now looks like that might not happen, and if it doesn't, every non-Jordan vote should be primary'd. Unacceptable.

I'm glad that Republicans voice and vote with their own minds rather than tote the party line. But it definitely has a negative impact with such a small majority. I don't understand why they are killing their majority by being so stubborn within their own party. Wish they would save that stubbornness to use against the socialist Democrats rather than each other. I think they will see that soon

Jordan is not going to get to 217 this round. Already 10 GOP defectors and not even halfway through the vote.

            11 now.

18 now. Does he lose votes from the previous vote? I think he might.

Jordan is done. He lost more votes in the 2nd round.

Yeah, have to have carrots and sticks. He had stick and another stick.

GOP is going to have to turn to Dems for help I think. Get some kind of middle of the roader GOPer in there that can get a majority of the GOP vote and enough Dems to let the left and right wings vote against him/her and still get elected.

Pressure switches to Jeffries to deliver in that scenario.

Calling up spouses and making threats? Yeah that going really work.

Jordan's supporters have made some GOP lawmakers more entrenched in their opposition to his bid for the speaker's gavel. "They're harassing our spouses," says Rep. Don Bacon

It's this nonsense that drives me crazy. There are morons on every side. But reports like "Jordan's supporters" and mean tweets/emails about knocking someone's teeth out....give me a break.

If it's SO egregious, these threats, then CALL THESE IDIOTS OUT. But a dozen keyboard warriors sending threatening emails does not a conspiracy make. If people are actually calling the spouses of Congress, then track them down and call them out. I mean I realize we can't find who owned the Coke, but aren't we good with technology? Pretty sure I know someone who knows a hacker that can get this info, given time.

And I am NOT condoning the practice. Call them OUT, NOW! It can't be any worse than Maxine Waters actually going on TV and TELLING people to shun Republicans.

And a small number of idiots (and again, they are everywhere, on both sides) do not bring shame and guilt on ALL or even most of Jordan's supporters (nor does it anyone else).

Well, I heard that Jim Jordan really was the one who pushed granny over the cliff.

Sounds like someone's spouse keeps his Bacon under wraps.

There are a lot more Moderate Republicans than the 8 Republican hardliners that removed McCarthy, so there is a lot of anger (from Moderates) that a Few should Not hold up the Majority by the Minority. Bullies will not change the Moderates minds. However, the Middle East Crisis may save Jordan tonight.

Exactly. Jordan can bring shame on himself and his supporters all on his own. He doesn’t need the help of the rabble.

Edit: Can’t light the fuse and then disown the explosion. He and his crew in congress knew exactly what would happen when they fired up the crazies.

Jordan fired up the crazies? I missed that I guess.

Jordan removed as candidate by Republican party. Path forward is murky.
