I suppose a great weapon but the brass jumping up and down when the laser knocks a "model airplane" somehow put me in mind of Benny Hill.

Wonder what the range for these laser weapons is?

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the range would be infinite. The only factor would be line of sight. If we are truly talking about a laser with enough energy to destroy something, I would say if it is inside the orbit of the moon, it's within range. But, I am not a biologist.
