The rest of the world can get involved if they want. I don’t think we should get involved in Ukraine for anything short of nuclear attack.

I completely respect this...2 (completely honest) questions though. Do you consider arming the Ukrainians and any NATO ally to the teeth with as much as they want of anything they want (short of nukes obviously) "getting involved"?

Does intentionally targeting a nuclear facility seem really close to being a nuclear attack? I would also ask if targeting civilians with these thermobaric/fuel air bombs wouldn't be construed as also "nuke-like"? Again, just asking because I really do respect your opinion.

For number 1; no, I don’t consider that getting involved and support that effort.

For number 2; also no. Destroying a power plant, even at the risk of causing radiation poisoning, sounds much worse than it is, and is “fair game” in war. Targeting civilians is the same. I don’t support either of these and they are both escalations, but war is hell.

And of course, I do agree with #3.

Tonight, apparently, a fire burns at one of the nuclear plants. The information I heard is that no damage has been done to the reactor (yet) but the fire continues. The fire, again, apparently, came from Russian shelling.

I asked the question, but we have to be getting close to some kind of line in the sand. These thermobaric weapons are only intended for civilians. The damage a leak could cause would likely be far more damaging than Chernobyl. At some point enough is enough, and I fear we're getting dangerously close.

This NONSENSE of taking yachts from "Oligarchs" and War Crime Trials etc....Putin is NEVER going to stand trial, he's going to die, one way or the other, in office and in power. Taking the money from "Oligarchs" is nothing more than mask theatre.

I don't want one American life lost, especially on the ground in Ukraine. But I'm all for drone carpet bombing at this time. Seriously, we can't allow this to go much further at all.

Maybe she can unite and inspire them with her explanation of the conflict...

I think - in the end - Putin is pushing to break NATO. Ukraine dismantled its nuclear arsenal left behind by the old USSR - disarming in the 90s was supposed to ensure the nation’s security but now they learned a tough lesson… It should also be a lesson for all of us.

I'm encouraged - maybe even a bit proud - with the cooperation and solidarity of the free world. No bullshit tweeting or chest beating. Just calmly and consistently tightening the noose. America is as she should be: calm and ready... Russia knows exactly what's on the other side of the red, white, and blue door if it chooses to open it.

I still believe this is a game of brinksmanship with Pootin'. A very stupid game. He has SO much more firepower. If he does go all through the country there are estimates that resistance fighting could last for many years... why on earth would he want to get involved in another Afghanistan? Every day that goes by isn't making him look stronger, just crazier.

I’m not saying it’s good, in fact, I’m saying it’s bad, but I don’t believe that it is akin to firing nukes into Ukraine.

Nagasaki had a population of ~ 200k. 40k died and 25k were injured in the blast. That was a tiny bomb over a small city.

Contrast that to Chernobyl, where, of the 800k that worked on containment, only 31 died trying to put out the fire. There were numerous health concerns for those that did not die, but they were statistically insignificant to the unexposed control group.

Nukes and nuclear melt downs are NOT the same.
