Kind of joking, but also kind of serious....but Twitter is a bigger pandemic than Covid-19 imho. It's beyond dangerous and is nowhere near contained.
Good lord, are they profane or what?

Backup is everything in law enforcement. Officers are always told to "wait for backup" before proceeding on dangerous calls. The effective result in lowering the size of a police force without lowering the size of the area they police, is more risk (i.e. dead cops). Why do you think NYPD officers are retiring in record numbers? The second the very first cop dies alone on the streets of a defunded department is the second the politicians who voted to put them in danger should be handcuffed and charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Spineless, brainless,.. politicians.

I don't have the statistics, but I think I heard that the # of 911 calls generated is overwhelmingly from the lower socio-economical neighborhoods. Which tells me that the lower income people are the ones that rely the most on 1st responders (POLICE). I'm not a smart man, so someone will have to explain to me, how cutting the police force helps these people? I don't need help, it can't. Which then leads me to believe that this defunding the police movement is cruel toward the poor and the needy, yet is not being portrayed as such by our mainstream media.
So, I believe the best way and what's best for the country to shelve this whole idea is for Trump to come out and say that he is now in favor of cutting any federal funding for local police forces. That will then pivot all the attention onto what a terrible idea really is, so we can be done with this foolishness."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Now this is funny.
AOC defends rise in NYC crime saying people are 'stealing bread to feed their children during record unemployment' despite weeks of bloodshed and 130% surge in shootings.
And she is on Joe Biden's committee to bring together the progressives and moderates. She is definitely moving the democrat party to the left, and Biden, like Obama is good with it.

She’s a Socialist, radical, Democrat member of Congress. She has raised 10Million + dollars more than her Democrat opponents in her district from Democrat supporters. She is a Democrat who enjoys one of the biggest social media followings of any Dem elected or non-elected official. She is for defunding the police. She is a socialist who Biden is placing in a position to alter public policy to the left, and changing his policies farther to the left so he can win.
You’re a Dem supporter. You are one of who is allowing her to thrive.

They need to move police from monitoring traffic laws to monitoring criminal activity. When it comes to obeying traffic laws, for example speeding, everyone does it at one time or another. The reasoning by most people is that you wont get pulled over for going 5 mph over the speed limit and I'm guessing that, of those that go more than 5 or the speed limit, probably only 10% will ever get pulled over. So they should use these resources in other areas, such as crime. They instead should invest in electronic monitoring (cameras, etc.) of traffic laws.

i remember a man man (he owned lots of guns and was a man who sometimes seemed to me to have an unhinged personality)who lived down the street from me a couple of years ago. He threatened the female who owned the house (they lived together). Her parents came, a couple of police cars showed up. While I never witnessed the conversations but over the afternoon, he was evidently removed from the home. No one was there for several days and later on, Police were camped down the street watching that house periodically for several weeks.
Police will always be irreplaceable and while small adjustments on police work may be made, no major changes can be made, if you want the public safety to exist.
