There has been a lot of mentions of Drake in the MBB thread, ‘scores of interest’ recently. In this currently gender sensitized society wouldn’t it be more appropriate to refer to Drake which is so obviously the male dominant quacker, as Duck, since that is the gender neutral name of said bird. I feel we could avoid some pain causing triggering to some of the sensitive sports fans who may peruse Shockernet. It is important to note that Duck was founded by a man who was civil war officer (that can’t be good) and was a railroad robber baron of sorts(definitely not good).

Can we come together for some symbolic sensitivity for the children please.

This book was written in 2014, so the number could have changed. VERY much recommend the book, though. It's a short, quick read. Great stuff.

Where did you get that 75% number? I seem to recall the number at 88%, and near 45% for all others. Regardless, it's an epidemic in our country right now, among all fathers (mothers have a say in it too), it's just a lot worse among black Americans.

I'm currently reading, "Please Stop Helping Us." I've long suspected that the "progressive" ideology touted by politicians is the main source of economic inequality- especially in the African American community- and this book supports those suspicions.

In short, anthropologists almost unanimously agree that in order for a species to truly thrive, males must exhibit some kind of nurturing presence. What the "nurturing" presence is, is up for debate, however, being present is a requisite. The number one issue facing society- and especially the African american community- is the absent father. Staggeringly, the unwed-pregnancy rate for African American women is approaching 75%. Unless and until men start stepping up, this is all for nought.

That being said, just about every study produced on the subject has found that the happiest women in the world are those that stay home with their children. If a woman is telling you how independent she is, or how she loves to work, or how children aren't a priority in a relationship... run. Statistically, she is stacking the deck of "happiness," against herself.

I've found that the happiest people in the planet are Christians that get married young (18-21) and have 4+ kids. This is my own experience and I haven't searched for studies to support my claim.

In summary--meet a woman that wants kids and wants to stay home to raise them. Marry this young when you are young. Give this woman 4+ kids. Be a present father. Be a man.

Whether the person is being a troll of not, they should be sympathetic (or is it empathetic) to another's situation. This is what is missing in all such arguments. Just being "different" does not make one a bigot. If "A" cannot legally make "B" think/act/believe "A's" way, then the same goes for "B". If I should tolerate you, then you should tolerate me. A bigot is intolerance.
