I'm bored and was just talking about the Royals with one of my bosses. Looking just at the 40 man roster I was trying to shape next years team. I know trades could be made and I'm sure a few of the youngsters will make it out of spring training but I'm just looking at the 40 man.

SP - Greinke, Davies, Hochevar, Teaford, Mazzaro
RP - Soria, Tejada, Wood, Meche, Humber, Hughes, Chavez

C - Pena, May
1B - Butler, Ka'aihue
2B - Getz
3B - Betemit
SS - Aviles, Betancourt
OF - Blanco, Gordon, Maier, Robinson.
UT - Arias

Robinson may be a stretch but I'd like to have his speed available. Greinke and Tejada are both involved in trade rumors. Betancourt/Betemit probably won't be around long.

Moose will be up in June. I'd really like to see one of the young pitchers make the starting rotation. I think Monty probably has the best shot out of Spring Training. Collins will probably be in the pen. Teaford could end up there. Hosmer will stay in the minors until September. The only way that changes is if he moves to RF or Ka'aihue is dealt. Clint Robinson intrigues me. It'll be interesting to see his numbers in Omaha this year.

I think the only change I would make at this point is Dyson in CF. I think Moore wants to see if Dyson can produce at the plate with regular PT. At least, I hope that's what he wants.

I could also see Aviles at 2B and Yuni at SS. Spring Training may decide that one.

I agree with all of that. I just want to see Robinson and his speed, but I understand Dyson is ahead of him.

I wasn't sure where to put Aviles. I know they liked Getz. I can't wait for Spring Training to see what happens. Heck, I can't wait for the winter meetings to end to see if anything happens.

Someone told me of a trade offer involving Greinke and Jose Reyes. I believe another prospect was with Reyes as well but he couldn't remember specifics. Who knows if any of this is true but it's interesting.

I don't believe any of the supposed talks of specific players in a Greinke trade.

But I do believe talks are ongoing and at this point I would be surprised to see Greinke in KC on opening day.

My wife and I never should have bought those Greinke jersey T's this past summer.

KC is in a tough spot with Zack. You know they'd love to sign him, but some of the things he's said make it sound pretty clear that he doesn't want to wait for the young guys to be ready. If that's the case, you trade him when/if a good deal is offered.

Does Greinke still have anxiety issues ??? Yankees would be a bad fit because the media there would eat his lunch.

I recently read something where he said he was struggling some with it this past season and would be looking into upping his meds

Trading Zach, as much as it may suck, could work out very well for the Royals. It's going to take a hell of a deal for him to be moved.
