This is a great choice; it will keep me from spending money at the new Arena. With more acts like this, I may never need to spend money at the Intrust Bank Arena.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Brad is a huge CW talent and extraordinarily popular, and I'd take the family in a heartbeat if CU wasn't in town.
That being said, F CU.

As a concert promoter in a large metro area, I hold a bit of a different perspective. Brad Paisley is mega-hot, and will sell IBA out. That being said, is it who I would like to see? Probably not...but then again, I implore you to name a band that would make everyone happy.
I've learned as a promoter that you have to take yourself out of the equation. Does Brad Paisley make sound financial sense? Absolutely! He's getting around probably $250-400k to play the show. Tack on production, openers, marketing, etc...and we're looking at around $600-750k in expense. Assuming a sell-out (which it will), we're probably talking close to $1 million in profit.
Granted, my shows are much smaller in size (biggest show so far sold about 5000 tix), but the principles are the same.

Do you think the arena managers dropped the ball getting into the winter concert rotation for some of the major touring acts? We haven't seen squat as far as other acts scheduled for Wichita in late winter and early spring. How firm are the large acts tour schedules at this time of year for, say, 6 months out?
