That's where I think Dayton Moore missed this offseason. Surely, there was a solid #3 starter that could have been acquired.

In the offseason, he thought the Royals had 4 solid starters in Meche, Greinke, Davies, & Hochevar. And he was hoping Ponson would work out.

So, he was banking on 4 starters, when you need 5? Like I said, he should have made a move for a solid 3 to fit right in the middle. Davies is not a 3.

Have you been to the K yet? It certainly still is buzzing. If the Royals don't fall too far on this road swing, I'll bet that buzz is still around for the series with Cinci, Ariz, and STL. You'll probably even see a couple sell-outs during that set.

Absolutely. It's a marketing ploy, but they're hoping it works. The plan was to compete the same year the stadium was finished, so those that come in droves to see the ballpark might like what they see on the field, and become fans. The winning isn't coming at the rates they were hoping for, but I also believe the stadium was finished one year ahead of the baseball operations hope for contention.

On a side note: the baseball on the field is also drawing fans in. For example, when Greinke pitches, the park is packed. Not so much on other nights, meaning fans are noticing excellence.

All I know is that whatever is happening at the K this year and in the future is sooooo much better than what we've been exposed to for the past 15 years.
