It's draft day today. I believe it starts around 5pm today. It'll be interesting to see who we take at 12.

Are there any good SS available?

        MLB projections show this:

        12. Kansas City Royals: Kyle Gibson, RHP, University of Missori
Normally, the Royals would probably be ecstatic for Gibson to be available here and not just because it'd be a "backyard" pick. But Gibson had two straight starts of dropped velocity, throwing a reported 82-87 mph in his regional win last weekend. He was quoted as saying that it was just some forearm tightness caused by the long season. The alarm bells you're hearing are that baseball folk will make a quick leap from "forearm tightness" to an elbow problem. If he can get the medical question answered, this is a good spot for him. If not, he could keep sliding. As a backup, there was word that North Carolina high schooler Wil Myers had impressed recently in a workout.
        Last week's projection: Tony Sanchez

If it were up to me, I would steer clear away from Gibson. If he thinks college is a long season, wait until he gets to the pros.

That's what I was thinking as well. It can't hurt to have more pitchers in the system but I think I'd be looking somewhere else right now.

Royals pick Aaron Crowe RHP Missouri (Indy ball this year). Good pick IMO, most mocks he was going top 5

I'd forgotten he didn't sign last year. This could be nice.

Only downfall, which may be a good thing is he is already 23, so he will have to be fast riser. Some say tho that he has 3 pitches that are MLB ready.

Hes also a Kansas kid, which may be to our advantage to signing him

GAME UPDATE: Olivo just went yard in the 3rd to put KC up 1-0. Royals have had the leadoff batter get on in each inning.

They have a good inning working. Bloomquist got a solid single and stole 2nd. Crisp sacrificed him to third. DeJesus with an RBI triple unless they change the scoring as the right fielder had some issues.

Well, Billy popped up to 2nd and Guillen just missed and flied out to CF. Hopefully Banny can keep it together and have a quick inning.
