Pelosi: Massive Climate Law Coming This Year

Junk science is going to win it appears. The laws and regulations that will be inacted are going to destroy many American businesses. I saw a study from Europe that said for every "green" job created 8 jobs are lost. Some of the regulations are going to jack up consumer prices and the economy will take even longer to recover. Add to that only about 30% of Americans feel that humans have any impact on "Global Warming/Climate Change"....

Our gov't is getting more and more out of control and this will do more harm than good. Not to mention it looks like our "leaders" are probably going to end up agreeing to about anything the UN wants on this issue. My only hope is there are enough in Congress to keep this crap from passing and becoming American law. It'll pass the house with ease, but I hope the Senate will come to their senses.

Despite what Carville thinks, the GOP will be back sooner rather than later. I'm not sure how much they'll gain next Novemeber, but a lot of people I think have been put off by what the Dems have been pushing lately. And if they don't get all this massive gov't pushed through before then, they won't get it. I guess that's why they're trying to do all of it at once.

On the flip side, the Republicans would just increase gov't in other ways...

But this climate law crap has the potential to really screw things up.

RJL, I'm confused again....Why is it now called "climate change" instead of "global warming"?

Could it be that the same yahoos who were warning us of the next "ice age" in the 70's are the same yahoos who were telling us of "global warming" in the 00's? Have they finally figured out that the earth's temperature is cyclical and are to proud to admit they were wrong? Or have they simply noticed that the recent trend is that we are in a global cooling cycle right now and they are still looking to further their agenda of socialism?

Whatever happened to common sense? I don't know of anyone who wants dirty air and water. If people would just follow the simplistic approach of a boyscout and leave the "campsite" cleaner than they found it a lot of issues would be solved. In the meantime the political agenda that is being furthered under this hoax is going to ruin what is left of a once great nation....OURS!

I think the first part of your sentence is correct but their haste is also an effort to take advantage of the President’s personal popularity (as opposed to the popularity of some of his policies, which is questionable).

Question: What makes you so sure that the Republicans will take control of either the House or the Senate in the next election cycle? I have not really looked into this – i.e. what seats will be up and where, etc. (although I do have some general thoughts). But why did you come to this conclusion?

I know I am straying from the topic but I am curious.
