I can reduce all of these articles down to this belief that's repeated in one of them:

Want to know how climate change is changing America? Read the report. Want its bottom line: "Global warming is unequivocal and primarily human-induced." Changes "are expected to increase."

Want to see impacts on the Northwest? Just look around, something that global-warming skeptics resolutely refuse to do.

The problem is these little anecdotes don't hold up to the research and the facts. Link to actual scientific research from UW-Madison

Tsonis and Swanson used mathematical analysis to look at the role of the Earth’s natural climate cycles and the long-term weather patterns that drive them. The Earth’s global mean temperature swings up and down over time. It fell before World War I, increased during the 1920s and 1930s, fell again during the 1940s until about 1976. Then, global temperatures rose from 1976 to 2001. But the trend in mean temperatures since 2001 has been flat, said Tsonis, and is beginning to fall.

Tsonis and Swanson found that the Earth is in the beginning of a long-term climate cycle where temperatures will level off or drop over the next few decades.

Imagine that, it's cyclical...

But this Cap and Trade bill isn't about "Global Warming", that's just what they tell the KoolAid drinkers. It's about control. The government wants greater control over industry in this country, and to increase their revenues from that control.

This shouldn't be a Democrat vs. Republican issue, this is an Us (the People) vs. Them (A Statist Government).

Gore Compares Climate Change Fight to WW II

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is comparing his struggle to reverse global climate change to the fight against the Nazis during World War II.

Despite likening his crusade to that of a war that killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide, the one-time presidential candidate called on the global community to approach the global warming crisis with 'a sense of joy', according to the Daily Mail of London.

Inhofe: Cap and Trade Worthless Without India, China

"Without participation from China and India, anything we do here at home would impose burdensome costs on consumers in the form of higher electricity, gas and food prices, all for no climate gain," said Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe, the top Republican on the panel drafting the Senate's version of the bill.


"Unless supporters of cap-and-trade legislation can develop a plan to convince China and India to make meaningful emissions reductions on par with the United States, no such bill will pass the U.S. Senate," he said.

No responsible energy policy can go forward that is rooted in the belief that man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions significantly contribute to global warming or "climate change" as it is now called. This article will address data from the historical temperature record as well as climate models that refute the theory that: CO2 causes or to a large extend amplifies climate change.

Based on the following data it appears that the only thing consistent about the climate is that it is always changing. Unfortunately, the Waxman-Markey bill, recently passed by the House, sets the foundation for an energy policy guided by the premise that man-made CO2 emissions are causing climate change and must be reduced regardless of the economic consequences.

Cap and Trade Sold under False Pretenses

The 1,500-page cap-and-trade climate legislation, also known as Waxman-Markey, passed by a narrow margin late in the day on June 26. Members of Congress added 300 of those pages early in the morning on the day of the vote. It is safe to assume that hardly any of the 435 Members of Congress read the bill in its entirety, meaning one of the costliest bills in American history was rushed through so politicians could enjoy their 4th of July recess.

Cap and trade is nothing more than a massive energy tax, which is why its chief alternative is a carbon tax, and it has been sold under the following false pretenses:

It will not cost anything;
It will increase jobs;
It will increase green investment; and
It will save the environment.

Almost every Western European nation has had higher unemployment and energy costs than America, and a weaker overall economy, even as emissions were still rising. Far from seeing evidence of the bright new green economy some are now promising, we are seeing that cap and trade has contributed to the harm. For example, Spain has been cited repeatedly as the example of a successful clean energy economy and source of green jobs, but it is rarely mentioned that Spain currently has 18 percent unemployment.
