Which means we should see the Mexicutioner in the 9th, unless KC puts up a couple more runs.

Your AL Central division-leading Kansas City Royals!

(I hope I can say that a few months down the road.)

First-place Royals hook up with the last-place Yankees. Obviously, a Royals sweep is in order.

Looks like great weather for the home opener!

Except for Sunday, the pitching matchups in this series are not favorable for KC.

If Ponson and HoRam can get through 5 innings with fewer than 5 runs, then I think we'll at least have a shot in those two games.

I'm predicting KC goes 1-2. If our offense can jump on Petitte or Joba early, maybe we can go 2-1.

Yea i agree, Ponson scares me alot, and quite frankly I dont think he will last in the rotation. We are gonna have to do alot better with RISP to have a chance at taking a couple games in this series.

I don't like our chances today and tomorrow either. The offense is going to have to start driving in runs and not leavins so many on base. Ponson and Ramirez aren't the guys to shut down a team like the Yankees.

I agree that if we can get them through 5 with as little damage as possible we might be ok. Hopefully our hitters remain patient and work the pitch count up so we can get into the NYY pen.

On the bright side, our offense is coming off of three outings against three very good starters and a pretty solid bullpen. Pettitte had a 6.20 ERA against KC last year in three outings.

I read today where the main reason Ponson is #4 and Hochevar is in Omaha, is that Luke's endurance is a major concern. After 40 or so pitches his breaking pitches lose their bite. If he works on this in Omaha, he might actually last through September when he gets called up.
