Here are my two hyper-critical cents on Bonds. :rant:

I give no weight to what the players say. It's a fraternity and they will protect their own; sometimes honorably, sometimes dishonorably. Bonds got caught and I'm tired of players not calling out those that are ruining the integrity of the game. Only the incredibly naive, frat boys (players) and win-at-all-costs fans can defend the man.

If Moore were to bring in Bonds (and I doubt he would, even though he says the baggage isn't an issue), it would put a damper on whatever success KC were to have, at least for me.

That said, wasn't he having knee problems his last couple of season? At his age, "he's still in marvelous condition" means he doesn't need an oxygen bottle after a homerun trot, assuming he can jog that far without taking a break at 2nd base. ;)

As for his hitting numbers two years ago, they were decent, particularly his OBP. But after going this long without seeing ML pitching I doubt he would be as feared by pitchers initially. If he proved himself early, then maybe the Bonds mystique returns. But I'm more inclined to agree with Brian McRae.

I also think if Bonds really wanted to come back, he'd at least playing somehwere in an independent league. He's turned down offers because "he has nothing to prove there". How about keeping your skills sharp against pitchers whose jobs depend on them getting you and others out, and running real basepaths?

Eh Im against it.

But if he can prove he still has it and could give the Royals a boost then I dont really see why not.

At this point for him its not on his terms anymore.

But realistically the offense is in dire need of consistant help. If that mean bringing someone up or making a trade then lets do it.
