  • Greater Transparency in Gov't?

    Not really

Treasury still doesn't want to release details of TARP.

Both parties lie and do stupid crap. The only difference is this:

The rebulicans lie about doing the stupid crap they do because they think the American people don't want them to do it, even though they may.

The democrats lie about the stupid crap they want to do because they know the American people don't want them to do it.

Obama's Inside Deals with Drug Makers Breaks Promise
In cutting deals with hospitals and drug makers, President Barack Obama is giving a private inside track to special interests that's at odds with his promise to make policy in the open.

Obama promised Americans he would hold special interests at arm's length _ that it would no longer be business as usual in Washington. He pledged to open government and let the public and press hold his administration accountable.

And just over two months before the 2008 election, Obama promised before an audience in Chester, Va., to hash out a health care overhaul in public. "We'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies," he said then.

AFP-Kansas applauds deficit legislation introduced by Rep. Lynn Jenkins
“This bill will force members of Congress to recognize the long-term ramifications of how they vote. If this bill had been in place when the federal stimulus bill passed, more members would have been aware that the Congressional Budget Office stated its passage would lead to a lower Gross Domestic Product ten years from now than if Congress had done nothing at all,”
                It'll never pass...

my co-worker in Hutch drove his American "clunker" to Olathe and traded it in on a Hyundai.

A little OT, but I had a family member walk onto a new car lot (that sells American cars) to buy a used car. He said "I have $3000 to spend, what do you have." The reply was, "due to the cash-for-clunkers program we can't accept less than $4500". If other "American" car lots are feeding this kind of BS to potential customers, I don't doubt that people aren't buying American cars.

Is anything fair and balanced anymore? It seems like every network, newspaper, or magazine either leans far right or far left, so you never know if you are getting the full story. All I want are the facts without the spin and how it will affect me and my family.

ShockerGorilla I agree 1000%, with one exception...instead of "so you never know if you are getting the full story" it should just read "you are never getting the full story."
