  • GOP senators hail Obama's economic team

Senior Senate Republicans who battled former President Clinton on budget and tax issues are applauding the return of his economic team to President-elect Barack Obama’s White House.

“I think the choices he’s made so far are extraordinarily strong,” Gregg told The Hill in an interview. He said the picks would soothe anxious financial markets.

“Summers and Geithner, I’ve described them as putting Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz in the lineup,” said Gregg, drawing an analogy to two sluggers who played together on his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.

Re: GOP senators hail Obama's economic team

“During the campaign, the kind of change that the president-elect promised was so undefined it made me nervous,” Grassley said in a statement. “Now that he's appointing familiar faces from the Clinton administration to very high-level positions, I'm less concerned.”
so much for any new ideas or solutions.

      From Obama's third news conference
"The American people would be troubled if I selected a treasury secretary or a chairman of the National Economic Council at one of the most critical economic times in our history who had no experience in government whatsoever," Obama said.

"What we are going to do is combine experience with fresh thinking," he said. "But understand where the vision for change comes from. First and foremost, it comes from me. That's my job, is to provide a vision in terms of where we are going and to make sure then that my team is implementing."
      That sounds like new ideas.

You have to be kidding - everybody talks about vision and fresh thinking and it never happens, especially when your just bringing in retreads.

The last adminstration didn't bring in any new fresh thinkers. He only brought in people that said what he wanted to hear.

Barry has promised more government control, more government programs, and income redistribution. That is his change. Change to Socialism.
Go cash in your stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Put it in a safe, and wait 4 years to re-invest. That is my plan and thank God I did it before the market reacted to King Hussein's election.
