The Farmer's Almanac predicts lots of snow for the Midwest during January and February.

Warmer and wetter to me sounds like ice.

        I'd rather have snow anyday.

Yep. If it is wetter, it will be in spurts. I suspect we'll see it go a couple of weeks at a time without moisture. We just had too much moisture earlier this year for that patern to keep up.

Since the average highs in Wichita in the winter are in the low 40's and the average lows are in the low to mid 20's, any ice we did get would have to be in the morning hours. Above normal temperatures might be enough to only give us a cold rain.

If "Kansas" were a 28-year old female, this would be a great start to a Penthouse Forum letter.

28 is kinda old for me. How about barely 18.

This prediction has a risk of "bust" being written all over it (since 4 out the last 5 months have been cooler than normal).

The reason why is this prediction is based on that El Nino/La Nina is neutral so therefore they have chosen to predict the future by examining the past trends (climatology). They are hoping that this winter follows past winters.

Well, Kansas is prone to extreme undulations, but whether or not it is really climactic is up for debate. Does a warmer and wetter winter mean things won't be as frisky?
