I doubt it. I believe he would feel like many of us on this board. Happy about the milestone, but disappointed in the candidate who reached it.

Please articulate, preferably with facts rather than opinions, keeping in mind that almost anything you use as a reason could be used against John McCain, GW, Bill Clinton, Richard Nixon, John Kennedy, and yes maybe even Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter (although not a easily).

          Thank you,

I think he would be disappointed with most of the presidents and candidates over the last hundred years. Obama is not the exception, but part of the rule.

Double is right on. This is what happens when a nation turns it back on God, he removes his protective hand from above and allows its enemies to take control. Socialism walked right in the front door and stupid Americans let it happen because they were concerned about the economy which goes up and down all the time and forgot about morals and values which Obama does not have.

I just REALLY hope that we do not abandon Israel. If we do that... who knows.

That's not answering the question, but never mind. Only Lincoln would know for sure. Time will tell.

I don't think this nation has gotten away from God. What is has gotten away from is portion of a political party that was trying to tie all of it's policies into the Chiristian church. The religious right was pretty much told today that it wasn't liked, or more how it has handled things wasn't liked.

Kansas is full of those people, and so is this board, so I plan on being blasted for this post. I didn't vote for either McCain or Obama, but I did vote. I haven't liked how the far-right has been doing things for quite a while now. I don't like how the far-left is doing things either.

Until a candidate, whichever party that he or she might be from, runs on a platform that goes along with the constitution and tries their best to keep religion out of it, we will continue to see elections go the way that they did today. I am more conservative than Liberal, but I just can't stand the way that religion is always brought into politics. It has its own place and that isn't in the political scene.

Abandon Israel? How could we do that when our country is run by Jews? They practically own the media market, Hollywood, Washington, and New York City (including Wall Street). We couldn't abandon Israel if we wanted to.

Religions has always played a big part in politics and politicians. It can be traced back to the founding fathers and everywhere in between.

Ok, someone set me straight on Israel. I was under the impression that the current nation of Israel is comprised mostly of converted Jews that came from eastern Europe/Ukraine and not decendents of the original 12 tribes.

If that is true, why would God care whether the United States supported that country?
