Every time Billy would come out and say," Ya better not do that or else...." Well after 17 times of Der Slickmeister warning Saddam to play nice and Saddam telling Bill to kiss his arse, along comes George W Bush. Bush says we are not going to play that game, especailly after 9/11. Now Powell, wanted to warn Saddam another 17 times and maybe write another 17 resolutions.
Any kid can tell you, that after several threats, if you don't deliver, nobody will listen to you anymore. So: Bush warned Saddam, Saddam told Bush to bite off, Bush kicked his ass.
Through that show of strength, the fact that we warned and we delivered, Lybia got scared and scrapped their nuclear program. When Bush says something he means it. If it were up to Powell, we would still be writing resolutions for Saddam to break and our credibility would be nothing.
Yeah, I love that "tough guy" approach as well..... in movies. Unfortunately this is real life and we have lost a LOT of real lives and continue to do so for the sake of a people that aren't really that thankful we "saved them".

The premise of the war was to save us (and Israel) from a future nuclear threat. All we have really accomplished is eliminating Iran's major threat. Speaking of Iran.... it seems now that they are clearly in the green to eliminate the world of infidels, they have developed a nifty little (REAL) nuclear program of their own.

Oh what tangled webs we weave...

    P.S.

God told George W. to attack Iraq...

Why would you worry about Iran? Your boy Barry said it was a tiny country and could pose no real threat to the U.S.
Kick 'em square in the grapes! (that can be very painful)

        My boy Barry?

        I don't think so...

Certainly Iran is no direct threat to the U.S right now. Iran is definitely a direct threat to Israel, and they will probably be doing something to rectify that situation in the near future.

If Iran attacks us or one of our allies we will blow them off the face of the earth regardless of who is in office.

However, I'm tired of the Bush-authored-preemptive-strikes-against -potential-threats-era. We need to make it a habit of being very sure before we attack and occupy countries.

I just heard Powell claim that the GOP has shifted too far to the right for his liking and he's afraid it's going to go farther. The funny thing is most people I know have seen the GOP continue to shift left for quite some time and needs to move back to the right.

Also just heard a stat that said Obama is the 4th most partisan member in the Senate and voted along his party lines 96% of the time.

Powell might be referring to the parties increasingly hawkish nature...

That won't hurt Obama because he will have a super-majority.. *sigh*
