If she is willing to let her husband have access to state records, is she gonna let him have access to federal stuff that he has no business being around? I think it is a good question to be asking.
Or is this just "selective concern"??

Taser incident
Wooten was also found to have violated department policy in using a Taser on his then 11-year old stepson in 2003. He told investigators that he did so "in a training capacity" after the child had asked to be tased. In a September 2008 newspaper interview, Wooten said that he set the Taser to "test" mode, meaning that it was on low power.[31][32] In a statement to police, the boy said "he wanted to be tased to show that he's not a mommy's boy in front of Bristol [his cousin, Palin's daughter]. Following being tased he went upstairs to tell his mother that he was fine."[18] In a statement to police, Molly McCann said "she was up stairs giving a bath to the kids … Mike was going to show Payton what it feels like and she told Mike that he better not."[18] According to Molly's account, she remained upstairs during the incident.
Although the Taser incident happened in 2003, it was not reported to police until on or after April 11, 2005, the day McCann filed for divorce. On June 6, 2005, a police investigator asked Bristol why they "waited so long and brought the incident up after two years." Bristol said "because of the divorce."[18]

The police investigated this and unless you know something they don't (unlikely) then I would say they are probably more capable of deciding if any serious incident occured. In fact in reading all the charges they appear to be trumped up in an effort to win a custody battle.
You sound like those people that bashes the WSU baseball program over the beaning incident. Don't know all the facts but are capable of coming up with judgements.

What is your point?
Did he or did he not taser his son? And the justification was so the son could prove his manhood?
This is rational behavior to you??
I am puzzled why the left wingers will scream to high heaven and want the cops head when they tasered the kid disrupting the political speech in Florida earlier this year (an Obama follower, of course) and yet seem claim it acceptable, even perhaps somewhat charming, to tase your own son.
The absolute hypocrisy is astounding. ( and don't give me the freedom of speech BS, that was pretty much shot down and I really don't think you want to revisit it, besides the tasering was a seperate indignation.)

Every once in a while a parent acts a little too much like Homer Simpson. Its not being quaint but rather accepting that parents are not perfect. I know my dad used to swim in a frozen lake on their farm in the winter with his brothers as a kid. When you think rationally a parent should never allow that but they did. Do you think its the duty of the government to investigate every stupid action by parents when no real harm is done?

Subgod21 - That was just wrong
WuDrWu - Of course the tazer was silly
t7017s - I dont think getting tasered was warranted.
ABC - But they stepped over the line here.
Oh, and I am far from a left winger if that was what you were hinting at. 8)

What part of me criticizing him for being stupid did you not understand? My point is simple - if an investigation found no wrong when they have all the facts then you should not be cricizing it with only partial data

My last comment was not directed at you personally, it was a general statement about liberals. The MSM and libs in general were very vocal, at least here in Florida, in condeming the use of a taser in virtually any situation. Yet I didn't see the same MSM and lib's hitting the air waves condeming the use of a taser on the trooper's own stepson. Indeed they passed it off similarly to the way you are. That my friend, is hypocrisy, a seemly endearing trait of the left wing.

But if it happened 2 years before the divorce was filed, why did it become such a big deal then, instead of when it happened? That's what I don't understand. And it still doesn't change the fact that the governor and her husband both were pushing for his dismissal after all the investigations were complete. Trying to get a soon-to-be former family member fired wreaks of something fishy and possibly overstepping of bounds.

Wouldn't you try to get that person removed from his position?? I certainly would and I suspect most on this board would as well.
The only thing fishy is the so call reason for the investigation - it was a pure witch hunt tied to the Presidential campaign. Did you seriously think that it was anything else? I suspect a lot of Alaskan political lives are now hanging in the balance of the Dem's unprecedented attempt at tar and feathering Gov. Palin. But who knows, maybe they were already in jeopardy anyway. Interesting election this year, on many levels.
