“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

And who the hell cares.
Are these candidates supposed to hold hands with all their friends 24X7 to keep them from getiing in any type of trouble - no matter how far removed from the candidate and the process they might be?
Irrelevant non-issue, non-event.

I guess I need to hang out with a different crowd, 'cause my friends are rather dull in this regard.

The point is, no candidate can live the lives of all of his acquaintences. All of the guilt by association that goes on during political campaigns, particularly the presidential races, is simply absurd.
Oh, and shocrates, thanks for the highly intellectual response.

Rev Wright, Bill Ayres, Franklin Rains, and now this guy. Since Obama is part of the Chicago political machine, I'm sure I'm missing a few of Hussein's other buddies. Doesn't take a Mensa member to sense a pattern here. He'll abandon the troops in Iraq but give him a good poker game with an unsavory character any day.Talent is God given. Be humble. I'm more concerned about the Times using the word "raid" in this headline. That's a loaded term and way out of line, because both articles assert that only 2 agents were involved, they stayed at the offices (not "home" as the subject of this thread says) for less than two hours, and the office being "raided" cooperated fully.
The Trib's headline is clearly more accurate and the Times clearly has an axe to grind here.

And ... as I recheck, the Times, to their credit, changed the article and published a retraction.
