Mitch maier just took one off the dome.

Walked off on his own power no status as yet on him.

Mitch has played very well since being called up and that could very well mean the end of Mark Teahen in KC. I like Mark, but his bat hasn't really shown up.

KCs D has handed the Tribe 4 runs as they trail 5-2 in the top of 5.

The last month of this season the Royals should play Maier as much as possible.

We already have a good idea of what Gathright and Teahen bring to the table. Maier needs to find some pop, but so far he has held his own at the plate and in the field, and has the best baseball instincts of the group (a trait in which the Royals sorely lack). His BA is great through 18 or so games, but he'll need to continue to hit at that level or find some pop if he's going to stand out significantly from our pack of light-hitting corner-outfield candidates.

Mitch feels fine despite lots of swelling, some bleeding and three facial fractures. He's been placed on the 15 day DL and Gathright has been called back up from rehabing his shoulder.

That's too bad for Mitch. Hopefully he can get in there at the end of September for a bit.

I wonder who will get the September nods? No doubt we'll need some arms. My guesses are Davies, Rosa, Colon/Lowrey/Musser, Callaspo, Tupman and Ka'aihue.

I wouldn't expect Ka'aihue to get called up this year. Odds are Shealy will get a shot since he's on the 40 man roster and been hitting fairly well. If Ka'aihue gets the nod someone is getting removed from the 40 man. That could happen, but I'm not sure it'll happen this year.

I'd guess that we'll see Davies and Rosa for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if the called Pimentel up. Callaspo will almsot certainly get a look. Shealy and Costa will probably get a call and a guy like Lisson is a possibility. When they do expand the roster I hope whoever they call up gets some action. We're not playing for much and it can't hurt to see some young guys in there.

Guillen continues to have a not so good relationship with KC fans and Dayton Moore isn't happy with how he handled it.

Hosmer's contract fine despite what Pittsburgh is saying.

No surprise, Olivo wants out.

Hosmer's season is over. Commissioners office removes him from Idaho lineup.

Royals ending the season on a strong note, So far we have a 16-7 record in sept.
