im not so worried about Butler hitting just singles.
I mean yes I would like more XBH but at the same time we just need people to get on base.

The problem with Butler only hitting singles is usually the people ehind him wont knock him in.
Guillen hasnt been what the royals thought he was.
John Buck has this nasty anti RBI disease.
Ive seen little leaguers that hit better than Pena.

I can understand about being loyal to an extent. Teahan himself is a good ball player. Great arm, runs the bases well. But hes been thrust into a role that simply doesnt fit him.

Singles also don't hit in runners from 1st and sometimes runners from 2nd with less than 2 out. But like I said, I'm not worried about Butler at this point.

Buck only has one less RBI than Butler and four less than the the team leader, Guillen. He as a .333 OBP, which is pretty good from the catcher spot.

DeJesus has been our unlikely RBI guy with 13 in 18 games (two of which he only played one inning) spanning 66 ABs.

BB hasnt been producing alot of runs.
The thing with buck though is it seems he only gets RBI when its a solo shot haha.

DeJesus has been strange as far as numbers are concerned it really hasnt seem like he has done that much but he is a valuable part of the team.
Which is odd because Teahan is right up there in every offensive stat you can think off. But he seems to suck so bad.

I think Teahen is still fighting with himself about who he should be at the plate. Maybe hitting him third makes him think he has to be a power hitter and is trying to hard. He does run the bases well which would make you think he'd be good at stretching singles into doubles and doubles into tripples. He's just not finding the gaps though.

Butler will be fine. He has really good plate discipline and I think he'll hit more HRs in a few years. He'll be primarilly a singles guy with doubles increasing with experience.

DeJesus may be the most important bat we have.

Hochevar on the hill tonight. Should be a good game to watch. I'm guessing Hillman will stick with the same line-up he used last night. Hopefully they can keep the offense going.

              Grud
              Gordo

              Gload
              Buck

That's not a bad lineup. And having the option to bring in Olivo or Callaspo is nice. They should be a fairly productive team.....eventually. They still have a lot of youngsters.

I look forward to watching this game tonight if my softball game is cancelled. Nothing like having the entire first week rained out...

When I see Hillman's lineups, it is obvious he really likes a "military march" batting order. You know, L-R-L-R-L-R-L-R . . .

With Guillen heating up and Teahen showing little signs of power, I'd rather have Guillen hitting behind Butler.

                  Ultimately, I'd like to see:

                  Callaspo
                  DeJesus
                  Butler
                  Gordon
                  Guillen
                  Grudz
                  Teahen
                  Gload
                  Buck

Grudz and Teahen are interchangable in that part of the order.

I like Olivo more and more everytime i watch him. He has been a solid addition to the team so far.

Three of my league's games have been cancelled already this season, not including a night of games we played in 35-degree weather with cold drizzle and wind. Last week we got about two innings in before we had to cancel the games because of the nasty storms that ripped through the area. We were under a tornado warning, listening to sirens as we left the field. Always a nice feeling. Good luck with your games!

If Pena's BA is still hovering around .160 this time next month, I'd like to see him DL'd for a sore wrist or something and give Callaspo two weeks of everyday ball to see how he does. He at least looks like a Major League batter up there. It's amazing the Royals have won 15 games with Pena and Guillen both under .200 in the everyday line-up.

                        Game's on tonight!!!

If I had my ideal lineup it'd go something like this.

                        DeJesus
                        Grud
                        Butler
                        Gordon
                        Guillen
                        Gload
                        Callaspo
                        Teahen
                        Buck

Teahen could end up batting higher if he ever figures out who he wants to be. I like Olivo too, but I think Buck is better behind the plate. Pena is a pretty good defender as well but his bat in anemic. I love Gathright but I have a hard time taking Teahen out of the everyday lineup.

I'm headed to the Royals game tonight. Hopefully they'll play better than they did last night. You just had that feeling like Markakis' homer was a death blow, and it was still early in the game. Still not a bad outing from Hochevar, just the one big mistake. Gil's on the mound tonight vs. Steve Trachsel, who always kills the Royals.

If Buck is catching Meche, we have a shot.

Absolutely no luck against the O's as the Royals lose a one run game. Hopefully Banny can get them a much needed win today.
