Why do people do that? That has to be about the stupidest thing you could possibly do, especially when that hand is necessary for you to make a living.

On a brighter note, a combined 4 hit shutout of the tribe today. I hope this is the start of some better performances by Meche.

Meche pitched very well today. Hopefully he's figured whatever it is out and he will be more consistent. I do think having Buck helps him. His last few outings he's pitched to Olivo. I'd be suprised if we see that again in the next few weeks.

          KANSAS CITY ROYALS
Length of streak: 12 out of 13 losing seasons, no playoff berths in 22 years
          Last winning season: 83-79, 2003
Last winning season before that: 64-51, 1994
General managers: Herk Robinson (1995-2000), Allard Baird (2001-06), Dayton Moore (2006-)

          Five bad moves
          1. Trading Johnny Damon and Mark Ellis for Roberto Hernandez, Angel Berroa and A.J. Hinch. Damon's still starting for a championship-caliber team seven years later. Ellis was an afterthought in the trade, but he's become one of the best all-around second basemen in the game. Meanwhile, Hernandez is out of baseball and Berroa may as well be. On the plus side, Hinch is doing a great job with the first-place Diamondbacks -- as director of player development.

FOOL thats my own expert opinion!

                just kidding

There have been a lot of losses for the O's, Royals, Pirates, Rays and Nationals over the years. Jonah Keri examines their losing ways.

Nice inning for the Royals scoring two.

I also think that Kuntz should be wired a few more times throughout the year. He's fun to listen to.

Joey comes through however Olivo was thrown out before. still tied 3-3

And i have a question that I feel really stupid for asking. But I ahd a friend ask me when we were at the game what did the numbers mean in front of the team on the scoreboard.

If you look at the left field scoreboard its like
                    46 FLA
                    89 ATL

I havent the slightest idea of what that is. Im sure i do but im blanking the blank up right now.

Isn't it the numbers of the pitchers?

KC blew WAY too many chances tonight. They have got to learn how to advance runners.

Or just put the ball in play when they have runners. Teahen man, two bad strikeouts last night. You can take the strikeouts if he get his extra-base hits in between them, but a singles hitter who strikes out a lot is bad. Putting eight or nine of them on the same team gets you the Royals. I'm about ready to be done with Garrett Anderson for the year, too.

Teahen is really starting to concern me. You're going to get one of four things from him at the plate:

                                1. A slap hit to the opposite field.
                                2. A swing-for-the-fences strikeout.
                                3. A weakly hit, made-for-a-double-play grounder up the middle.
                                4. A walk.

He's basically giving KC the production of a decent 2nd-baseman. Thing is, we already have one of those.

Butler is also showing to be only a singles hitter. Fortunately he isn't striking out as much as Teahen and of course, Billy is young and in his first full season, so I'm not worried.

Teahen should be hitting 7th, in front of only Buck and Pena (who should be replaced with Callaspo, pronto!).
