  • Classy comments about Marshall from Aero Plains Brewery VP of Sales

Solid work by this KU t-shirt fan goon and proud junior college graduate to throw Marshall under the bus:

The guy works for Aero Plains Brewery. Not sure if he is just an employee, or a co-owner. He's a former booze route sales mouth-breather, so that along with the prior info means he's pretty much the trifecta for TFL qualification.

Speaking for myself, I will never darken the threshold of this establishment. I'd encourage you to do the same. Speak against businesses that trash WSU with your wallet.

This measured response (bottom post) by WSU alum and Central Standard Brewing co-founder probably sums it up pretty well.

I love how we live in a world now where NO emphasis is placed on the service earning the tip. If you don't tip well you are a jerk, rather than if you don't serve well you are a jerk. It goes both ways, people...the tip is your measuring stick.

How about when you get $5 on $50, you do some soul searching rather than the typical entitled whining that is so common now...

A guy who makes $3.3M and frequents Chester's Chophouse is a guy who knows about tipping. You probably did an especially bad job. Just saying...

I'd say the "especially bad job" is using the platform of your employer, and an observation made while working on their dime, to talk **** on probably the second highest profile guy in all of Wichita.

      Solid PR work efftard.

Thanks for the heads up @SHOCKvalue:. I know it's a place I will never go when I'm in town. It's amazing that the VP of sales would go to such lengths to ensure his sales will not be maximized, and even more amazing many of the commenters on his post were taking his post at face value without even considering there may have been a reason. He should definitely take the Central Standard Brewing co-founders advice.

If somebody on the Shocker Faithful Facebook page sees this, it won't be good news for those cats.

Whoever this guy is made a huge mistake, but none of us know what happened. Maybe GGG tipped $5, maybe he was adding $5 to the $10 he already put down. I couldn't care less. But, I do know the the owner is a career former Marine who learned the brewing trade as a part of a "life after MArines" scholarship. Don't punish him for this. Go in and look at the section of the bar where the bar maids can lower the bar to wheel chair height so anyone in a wheel chair, especially wounded veterans, can sit at the bar and have a beer like everyone else. He still gets my business.

And, by the way, if ANY of you complained about Kentucky fans trying to ruin John Higgins business (Yes, i know - this isn't a false claim), then FU for trying to do the same to the owner of this bar that probably had no hand in this comment.
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

The "complainer" probably pocketed the other $10 left as a tip.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I'm not sure there's much reasonable correlation between fans threatening the life of a ref and posting abusive and unsubstantiated public reviews about his business, with encouraging no-go status for a particular establishment as long as a certain offensive employee - one who uses his position at his employer to slander customers and share private information about them - remains employed there. The former situation is ridiculous; the latter is just common sense.

I would assume that Marshall has grounds for a defamation suit here due to the actions of this clown (although that's obviously not likely). On the other hand, the UK fans are actually being criminally charged.

The two situations are not remotely analogous.

The owner of Aero Plains is one of the nicest guys I've met in the industry, and is great for the community. We absolutely should not boycott his business. However, I'll make sure to mention this to him next time I'm there.

But I'm entitled to live my life the way I want to, who are you to tell me different?

It isn't fair to say "nobody" because there are many hard working folks everywhere, including you, but it's a growing number for sure.

I encourage anyone interested to go have a look at the comment thread on this guys post. He continues to flame Marshall in subsequent posts in his Facebook thread even this morning. This behavior has either been more-or-less okay-ed by his employer, or the doosh is just talking himself out of a job in front of crowd. The guy is completely tone-deaf as to the connection between what's coming out of his mouth, and his employer's public image.

I understand y'all defending your coach. I just don't know why anyone cares how good or bad anyone tips. Marshall, Trump, Bernie, Sean Penn. Let them tip what they want. It's between the tipper and tippee. In Europe, you would be looked down on for tipping.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
