Again, no argument. However, when people look back in 10-15 years, they'll see that Ned was the first manager to take the Royals to multiple World Series. They won't see that his antics nearly cost the Royals in the 2014 Wild Card Game and that his antics likely will cost the Royals a 2016 playoff spot. We tend to romanticize the past too much.

    • I don't get why he pulls Straum in that situation anyway, I saw right handers are hitting .114 against him so why even go to Soria there? I'm sure even Ned would like to be rid of him but with his contract they're gonna be stuck with him for a while. Of course if Cuthbert makes that fairly routine play the innings over and Soria never even comes in. I'm ready to see what Dozier can do at third the rest of the season.

      • Cubs lost last night. Like they have in almost every game this year.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

        • Cardinals take on the Giants tomorrow; St Louis is inching their way to another division title.

            • I was worried the royals would rebound and finish a game or two out of the wild card and we would look back at this series and curse the missed chances. I now see no chance of that happening! Wow they're making the Oakland AAA's look like the best team in baseball!

              • Just get to .500 and otherwise shut it down for the season. Reload for next season and get ready for one last run (possibly) with this group.

                • Should Oakland bring brooms or forks to the ball park tonight. Maybe both.

                    • I saw the score of the Royals game, it was disheartening. That said, the hapless Cubs lost yet another game, further establishing the Cardinals as the best team in the NL Central.

Royals fans probably should have brought pitchforks. Ugh what a horrible series. Hate to see the playoff hopes go down like that...

                        • Cubs pull out a rare win. I'm just happy when they don't lose 100 games.

                          • Cubs are getting lucky against Cincinnati tonight. They should win. That's not saying much as the Reds are one of the very few teams worse than the Cubs.

                                Cubs win a close one.
