I don't see the Royals catching the Indians who lead the Royals by 8 games although that is not impossible.
However, the Royals are now only 3.5 games out of the 2nd AL Wild Card slot and that has to be their goal for the time being.
The Royals get a day off tomorrow after finishing off a 4 game sweep of the Twins extending their current win streak to 8 games. They then are on the road for 3 games vs the Marlins (65-59) and 3 games vs the Red Sox (69-54) who are both in 2nd place in their respective divisions. Then they return home for 3 games with the Yankees and 3 games with the Tigers. The Yankees are a half game behind the Royals and the Tigers are a game ahead of the Royals in the AL Wild Card race.
That will be a challenging stretch but if the Royals can continue their stellar play over those 12 games they could be very well positioned for the stretch run (26 games remaining after that). 22 of those 26 games are against Central Division teams. In the final 12 days of the season the Royals will play @ Detroit in a 3 game series and will play 6 games (3 away and the final 3 games of the season at home) against the Indians.
14 of the Royals final 20 games will be at home. The 6 road games are 3 at Cleveland and 3 at Detroit. The Royals have the best home record in the AL and are 2nd only to the Cubs among all MLB teams.Comment

That's pretty much how I see it, so I'm hoping Cleveland wins in the near future against teams KC is competing against, then hopefully has nothing to play for when KC plays them late. :) These next few series are huge, hope they can keep it going!Comment

3 wins: Good week but still lots of work to do.

1 wins: Bleck. Came back to Earth a bit. Still time to repair damage but that hurts.

Royals take Game 1 from the Marlins 1-0 behind the pitching of Ventura (6), Strahm (1), Soria (1) and Herrera (1) with Lo-Cains 6th inning RBI single driving in Pualo O who had walked and stolen 2nd base to get into scoring position.
That will work. 9 in a row.
