Since I saw this during the commercials for the NLDS games, I'll put this here.
Did anyone see the Bleacher Report commercials? The commercial used clips from Koch Arena (empty arena and locker room). I had to do a double take on it, but sure enough, WSU was used for a national commercial.
If it is the same BR commercial I am thinking of, then it was actually around last year already. Not new. Still cool.
Well that was interesting strategy by the Jays. With a 7-1 lead, they take Dickey out after 4 2/3 innings and put game 1 starter Price in. He pitched 3 innings allowing 3 runs. They Jays won, but have only 1 starting pitcher left and he'll be pitching on 3 days rest in the game 5 final.

If you were a Toronto fan, would you want Price pitching in the postseason without a six run lead?
A little late to the party, but WOW! what a game. I wasn't able to see it live, but had it recorded and watched it when I got home. A truely amazing Royal comeback. I love the resiliency of this team. Left for dead in the chaos of the 7th inning, but reviving their season with another improbable comeback in the 8th. Now on to game 5. I am not going to miss this one. The atmosphere will be electric at the "K". Let's Go Royals!

While Price's post-season history has generally not been good, my thought had more to do with the Jays' starting pitching situation. With Buehrle "retired" and not on the roster, they have left their starting pitching in a poor situation. First, they are hoping that a young pitcher who was out most all season (but did have 3 very good starts to end the season), had only an OK game 2 against the Rangers, will get them to a rested bullpen on 3 days rest. Second, what happens if the Jays beat the Rangers? The next round is 7 games and you've just given a vote of no confidence to your ace (and he to himself with poor relief on 3 days rest). This is the pitcher who had 9 quality starts out of 11 since you acquired him going 9-1 with a 2.30 ERA, beating the Yanks 3 of 4 times and the Rangers the one time he faced them. While Price finished the regular season 5-0, the Jays were 11-11 in the other games.
Hey, D-bag! You guys can talk all the American League baseball you want! Talk Royals, talk Astros, talk Texas governor! That said, speak not of Marty McFly, nor anything related to the NL Central. Don't jinx the magic!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
