There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

    • Don't Think Twice is billed as a comedy and it has a few chuckles. But it's really a very good drama. See it.

      • We went to the Warren and saw "Hell or High Water." It's one of the best movies that I have ever seen.

        • We went to see "Sully" today. Lots of flashbacks. Tom Hanks jogs several times. Mrs p loved it.

          • S node is pretty good. What I learned if the movie is accurate. Snoden was higher up on the totem pole than I thought. He now has his pretty good looking girlfriend with him.

            • Rogue One is fantastic. Probably in my top 3 of all the Star Wars films. I highly recommend you go watch it while it's in the theater.

                • For those who have seen La La Land, the female vocalist in the opening dance number is a WSU alum from Newton.

                  • I love Western themed movies, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is one of my favorites along with Tombstone and True Grit. Maggie and I have even have enjoyed more contemporary western movies like Django Unchained (even though we both thought they should’ve locked that boy up). I love a good ole Western/Cowboy theme. Was talking with my son on the landline the other weekend and he suggested a western movie for me that he said I would like. We haven’t seen it but he said it’s right up my ally! Brokeback Mountain? I looked at the cover and it does have a few cowboys on there so I’m sure its a great watch! We both also want to stop by Cowtown and check it out when we’re back in town for a game.

If you want a modern western, check out "Hell or High Water".

                      • Dunkirk is an interestingly fast paced movie. They just kept almost drowning, and then back on the beech to get shot at by Nazis. I left feeling stressed.

                        • On one of the premium channels Hacksaw Ridge was a good movie. Even if Mel Gibson was the director.

                            Consider that a good thing.

Dunkirk was just OK. The movie felt disjointed and lacked character development. I know it's about an event, and not about just one or a few people, but if the event isn't conducive to telling a good story with relatable characters, make a documentary.

                                I definitely liked this one.
