Royals go 4-2, Tigers go 2-4. Very plausible.

I think it is more plausible that the Tigers go 5-1 or 4-2 then for them to go 2-4.
The Royals just need to keep winning. A wild card spot is plenty good enough for a team that hasn't been there for 3 decades. Let's just hope they Royals can hang on to that. Once you make the playoffs anything can happen.Last edited by 1972Shocker; September 24, 2014, 01:56 PM.

White Sox tie the Tigers in the 9th, 3-3.
Runners at the corners w/2 outs for Gillaspie.
Detroit walks off with a 4-3 win in the bottom of the 9th :(Last edited by Play Angry; September 23, 2014, 10:29 PM.

During the same period, the Royals were 7-8 with no blown saves late, but only 1 win in the 8th or 9th. They lost 4 games by 1 or 2 runs and none of this counts the 10th inning completion game where they also came up short a single run to lose.
And there's the difference.

Seattle does seem to be struggling and it is really nice to see Billy Butler swinging the bat well again.
Technically, Cleveland and New York are still alive in the wild-card race but any win by either Oakland or the Royals or a loss by Cleveland and New York will eliminate those teams. Now that would seem like a virtual lock but baseball is a game where strange things happen under the pressure of a pennant race.
It would certainly be a crushing blow to Royal's fans if they don't make the post-seaon this year.

Detroit beats Chicago 6-1 in a mid-day game today.
Baltimore is just about to eliminate the Yankees from the wild card race leading 9-5 in the bottom of the 8th at New York.
Let's hope the Royals distinguish the hopes of the Indians tonight. Clearly, the Indians backs are to the wall so I assume they will use all options tonight to try and keep there season alive unless the Angels beat the A's. The Angels currently lead the A's 1-0 after 2 innings
The Angels lead the A's 1-0 after 2 innings. The Indians, of course, are rooting for the Angels.Last edited by 1972Shocker; September 24, 2014, 04:54 PM.

Royals magic number down to 2 with Seattle and stays at 1 with Cleveland. Jason Vargas has struggle dsome in recent starts. But with Shields, Guthrie, Duffy and Ventura lined up for the final 4 game and Chris Sale done for the year surely the Royals can get this done without any help although it would be nice to get some help and clinch ASAP so that they can get their pitching set up and perhaps a little bit rested for the playoffs.
A Royals win tonight plus another Seattle loss to Toronto this afternoon would be perfect. Big Game James going for the Royals tonight against the White Sox.Last edited by 1972Shocker; September 25, 2014, 01:24 PM.
