This board is a great board, but we have two members who belong here that aren't (if they didn't, they would have been forgotten after all this time).

Cold earned his banned status. He is a huge fan, no doubt, but is too arrogant to follow the rules. He was given multiple chances but could not toe the line. Too bad for him, to bad for SN but I don't miss him.

I don't understand all of this. You said you had a 2 hour visit. In that time, did you ever ask Cold if he wanted to come back? If so, what did he say?

I go over to Wheatshockers on occasions and never get any impression he would even consider coming back. He seems more than happy there. So what difference would lifting the ban make? I do think it should be lifted, PM him on Wheatshockers and leave it his court. If he posts occasionally, great. If not, no biggie. Anyone can also register there.

Yes, I did ask Cold, if he was interested in returning. He avoided a direct answer by simply saying, "I am satisfied at Wheatshockers."

I have a little bit of a mixed feeling about a return by Cold to this fine forum.

Suppose my suggestion is acted upon by Kai in the affimative. Further suppose Cold is banned again. Then I would feel like a moron.

On the other hand, I believe Cold's posts add value to this site with salient observations about Shocker players and their perfomances, humor and debate.

On balance, I am willing to risk being seen as a moron. Actually there is already a line of folks, who believe I am a moron. So the line might become a little longer.

Cold was a self-indulgent blowhard who couldn't avoid vendettas (not unique there, as we've seen with some of our recent feuders), and who also (unlike JH4P, for example) then went one step further by persistently and egregiously violating the posting rules in the most personally obnoxious ways. As for myself, I was surprised he lasted as long as he did, and I think the only reason there's still any question about him is that he had -- and obviously still has -- a few persistent and faithful advocates like Ricky who want him to get paroled. To each his own, I guess.

It's obvious the moderators don't lack mercy, because Fever is back after his time in detention; it's just a sign of how bad Cold was, and how often, that he's still gone.
