Today we have two matches with razor thin margins.

Germany beats France today. Possibly a 2-2 match with the final goal being scored in OT, or even PKs. Yes, I realize it's unusual to predict a 2-2 match, but I feel like both teams have that much firepower.

Brazil beats Columbia, but I would LOVE to see James Rodriguez get the upset here!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! But it's Brazil in Brazil so you just can't predict against them, and they aren't playing badly at all. I'd love to be wrong on this one. Columbia is not quite as good as Chile, but James is playing strong so an upset isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Again I can't forsee any upsets today.

Argentina beats Belgium today. This game will likely be closer than the Netherlands/Costa Rica matchup. Messi is such a stud. The young Belgians will make it a game but lose in the end.

Netherlands beats Costa Rica by 2 or even more. Not sure Costa Rica will score.

I have tried watching this mess I honestly have. I just don't get it. It's like a UNI/Creighton basketball game with all the flopping.

In my post about Argentina's last game I was going to poke fun that they are known for flopping/diving. But honestly until today they have been very good about it. In fact this Cup overall has been much better than in recent memory regarding diving. But you are right, Argentina was back to their old tricks.

If the World Cup was the MVC, Argentina would exactly be UNI.

Real shame the Ticas couldn't pull through on penalty kicks. It would have been perhaps the greatest underdog run to the semis ever.

Ok today is a BIG deal. Good chance whoever wins today wins the whole thing. It's statistically impossible to go against Brazil if you consider that Brazil has not lost a single match in Brazil since 1975. Fathom that.

Full disclosure: I am a die hard Germany fan. My second favorite team since youth.

Being as objective as possible, on a neutral pitch I believe that Germany is the stronger club. They'd win 6.5 of 10 on a neutral pitch. So there's the problem with this analysis. Brazil doesn't lose in Brazil but Germany is the better team with their lethal aerial assault game and rock solid defense.

I believe Germany can and will prevail, causing some rioting in Brazil. This is going to be one hell of a game.

I got Brasil losing, but not to Germany. Even without Silva, and a guy like Peto who would fill nicely to replace Neymar, they are good enough and deep enough to play with Germany. They are also playing very physical with opponents, which will help negate aerial advantage.

Netherlands outguns Argentina to final, then dashes Brasil's hopes by outscoring them in the highest scoring final in history.

Brasil 2-0 Germany
Netherlands 3-2 Argentina

Netherlands 5-3 Brasil

Brazil's Achilles heal is defense (as always). Normally their guns make that irrelevant, but not from what I have seen this Cup. I think Germany will exploit that weakness. Germany 1-0.
