She was one of a kind and will be remembered as a wonderful person and friendl by those that met her. She retained her great smile to the very end. I will miss her.
Pogo, I've never met you or your wife but my short time here on SN has shown me what wonderful, classy and compassionate people the two of you are. I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you the utmost strength to get through the next six months or so, as I think you'll be well supported in these first few days. It's those long, lonely days after a loved one has passed and everyone else gets back to their daily lives that truly tests us. Peace be with you brother.

God bless @pogo:. As you know I only met Debbie once in St. Louis and am eternally touched. Find some peace in the journey, long and arduous, is now over......and glory reigns

Our condolences to Jerry and family. May Debbie rest in ever lasting peace.

While in STL this year, we had the very fortunate luck to meet Jerry & Debbie.
It was Sunday and we decided to walk around the arena to stretch our legs prior to the game. Standing there RefChick turned to her left and said "There's Debbie."

We approached, said hello and the VERY first thing we both noticed was the beaming smile on Debbie's face. She was absolutely thrilled to be there and taking every second in!
I'm sure the STL trip was a lot of work for Jerry and all involved, but the look on her face was worth every bit of it. She looked like she was in Heaven on Earth!

She was (and still is) a TRUE Shocker fan!
Above all, make the right call.

It was a very nice memorial service yesterday and over 250 people attended. Friends and people that knew Debbie from work or school. There was a very nice floral arrangement from the WSU Alumni Association (they keep getting better at what they do each year) as well as some WSU cookies for later. There was a definite WSU flavor to the floral arrangements. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers over the last two years as they have meant a great deal to Debbie, myself and our family. So many people stepped forward to help it really took the load off of me in many ways. Thanks to everyone.

In the midst of those jumbled thoughts and emotions that day, I thought the same thing.

God bless you, Pogo...may you have comfort from those that know you best....
