There is so much Parity in the league right now, that if you are 9-0 you have to be doing something great.

You don't think that if Coach Marshall went to the hospital, it would affect the Shockers? I don't know about blaming anything but I could see how much energy and dominance over the Colts that the Texans displayed in the first half. Immediately after coming out at the half, it seemed like a different Texans team.

Yeah I have to think clueless Wade Phillips running the show didn't help. I think in every shot he was just standing there not saying anything. But Houston just blew it, missed FG, giving up big pass plays, etc. Keenum showed he's no fluke though, I think Schaub's days are done.

As for KC the defense gets credit for turnovers but got run all over, and generated little to no pass rush for the 2nd week in a row, which is concerning. Alex frustrates the heck out of me for throws like the one to Fasano where he got the personal foul call. Had he led him to the sideline its a big play. And the one & only deep shot they took on 3rd & 27 Bowe hauls in but Alex doesn't give him a chance to keep it in bounds. That's typical of Alex, maybe he's just making sure not to throw picks, but he consistently puts the ball out of bounds on sideline routes when the receiver could have made a catch given a chance. But then Dex drops what's likely a TD or at least big play, so you can't put that one on Alex. Its great being 9-0 but they're going to have to play better coming up, and hopefully they will. I can't help but wonder if they didn't want to show much to their upcoming opponents these last couple games? They seemed to be very vanilla on both sides of the ball.

Pay attention at the 19 second mark, where there is an isolation on Stevie and Sean.

Also, I won't point fingers and tease you about the Colts win last night, did Kubiak's absence played a part in their loss. Sure. But you do a disservice to the Colts but failing to acknowledge that they made second half adjustments. Perhaps the Texans took what happened and decided to play a more spirited game for the coach. But saying 100 percent of the reason for the Texans losing was due to Kubiak, that's wrong.

Chiefs need this bye week in the worst way, I also think Sutton wasnt calling as aggressive play calls the last 3 weeks, so we wont show Denver much tape.Follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/Shox_KCfan

Not sure how valid the "don't show anything on tape" logic is for regular season games. In the NFL, unless you are playing Jacksonville every week, I don't think you can plan to coast through a game and not be somewhat aggressive. Seattle better not have thought that they could go vanilla just because woeful Tampa Bay was across the field from them. That nearly bit them in the butt.
Also, Kansas City has played nine games now. Even if they might have held back even a little bit in the last couple of games, they still had to be aggressive and put stuff on film in the early part of the season, so their upcoming opponents have plenty of film. Just like we see in MVC games here at WSU, you can't fool anybody in those division games in the NFL. Yes, the Chiefs have a new coaching staff, so there will be a bit more preparation for Denver, San Diego, and Oakland...but the personnel is largely the same. The West opponents know all about Bowe, Charles, Berry, Johnson, Hali, etc. In the absence of a huge talent difference, division games will come down to who executes best of those particular days.78-65

With all the coaches and special consultants Reid brought in, now's where it pays off-2 weeks to prepare a game plan to throw Peyton and his chicken dance off. I hope they really throw some different looks at him to confuse him.
On the Sean Smith pick 6, whether its BS or not, he claims through film study they knew the play and where the hot route would go with KC bringing pressure, so he jumped it. Was it lucky, yeah, but you also create your own luck by being in the right place at the right time. Then on Hali's TD no one mentions it was Cooper who knocked it out with a great play that I wouldn't necessarily expect from a rookie. They discount it as "yet another lucky defensive TD" but give no credit to Cooper for the heads up play.
On another note, I just keep telling myself we got Smith, Cooper & McBeard for the 2 2nd round picks and I feel much better about the trade. :)

Stevie Johnson (who weighs 20 lbs less than Sean), knocks Sean back with a stiff arm, does a swim move and is completely wide open in the middle of the end zone. However, since the Chiefs were facing a rookie 4th string quarterback, Tuel missed this and threw to a receiver who was slanting in. Had Smith not had his ankles broken by Stevie, he would have followed Stevie to the back of the end zone and no pick-six. I'm glad the Chiefs are finding ways to win, but this team does not strike me as a team on a mission and are SB contenders. Not even AFC finalists, semi finalists maybe.
