Any particular reason? He may not be as polished as others coming out, but most reports I have seen have him as the most physically talented tackle in the draft.

He not bad, i just think he not a top 5 pick. To me when i look at this draft i see 5 or 6 impact top players. I just think it would be a mistake to go for need instead of getting a impact type of player. We have other big time needs besides OT. I really dont think you can pass up Glenn Dorsey type of player if he is there. OT is prolly the deepest position in this draft and we can get good OT in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. I just think if Dorsey or Ryan is there at 5, that is something you cant pass up.

I think you have some good reasons here about taking Dorsey, but I'm a little leery about taking another DT so high in a draft. Sims, Freeman and Siavii just haven't materialized and I'm not sold on King Carl's ability to draft a DT. Even many draft experts thought Sims was going to be a stud and look what happened with him. Apparently, projecting a DT to the NFL is a tough thing to do. I'd rather just go with Clady or trade down.

              • In addition to Chris and Jake Long, ESPN's John Clayton expects Glenn Dorsey to talk contract with the Dolphins before the NFL Draft.

                • BA2929 I agree with your comments, our recent history of drafting DT's makes me very wary of Dorsey, especially coming off an injury/surgery. I could see that one blowing up in their face yet again. If he's there and he's really being considered for #1 you about have to take him, but I'm really hoping for an OT there, hopefully trading down and getting another pick.

                    • Kiper just showed his projected top 10 on ESPN and he has the Chiefs taking OG/OT Branden Albert from UVA.

                      Scouts Inc says:
"He could be the top interior offensive lineman selected in 2008 draft no later than the second round."

I have more on him, but it's ESPN Insider data that I can't post.

this would be a aweful pick in my eyes. Why would you draft a guard who you are gonna turn into a LT with the 5th pick. If he can play LT so good, then why didnt he play that position in college.

This is the only thing I can think of:

We do need another Guard (I know I don't want to start Herbert Taylor, Travis Leffew or Tre Stallings) and OT is pretty deep this year. Maybe we'll go Albert first and keep him at OG, then get a solid OT in the 2nd round. Maybe someone like Jeff Otah of Pitt, Chris Williams of Vandy, Duane Brown of Virginia Tech, or Gosder Cherilus of Boston College will drop to us in round 2. Albert is far and away the best OG in this class.

i dont disagree with you that we need a guard, but you just pick guards with the 5th pick. To be honest i dont think i have ever seen a guard go that high. You can get good guards in the 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th rounds. If we pick a o line, it needs to be a LT. And if not it needs to be one of the DTs or Matt Ryan

                            • I’m starting to think its best if we work a deal to trade down…these players just don’t sound like top 5 material and this team has lots of holes in nearly every position.
