for dallas to trade us, and make it equal on the draft scale chart, they would have to give us their two first, and also then 2nd round pick
    and marion barber
Actually, Dallas is looking to deal with Miami for the 1st pick so they can get Darren McFadden.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen suggested during a special edition of Sunday NFL Countdown that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is eyeing the possibility of swinging a trade with the Dolphins for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 draft.

Such a deal would allow the ‘Boys to bag running back Darren McFadden, who played college football at Jones’ alma mater of Arkansas.

Per Mort, any such deal would have to include the rights to Cowboys running back Marion Barber

Dude can you imagine having both LJ and Barber running for the chiefs.

Seriously 2 REALLY GOOD recievers with Bowe and Barber.

and 2 power backs with LJ and Barber

      I think I wet myself

But we really really need someone to block for them...

I like the depth at OL in this draft, and look forward to the Chiefs getting some help here. I would love to draft McFadden and trade LJ, but that cannot happen. SO, if we deal our pick, we need at least 1 first rounder, a young starting Offensive player, and a 2nd.

I think that McFadden and Long will be gone before the Chiefs pick though, leaving them to either trade down, or draft one of the VERY GOOD DT left.

We'd have another good WR if we used one of the 1st rounders on a WR and one on an OL. But, this deal will probably never happen for the Chiefs. McFadden will most likely be long gone by the time the Chiefs draft or Dallas will have traded up before then.

If the Chiefs see a franchise QB in April's draft, they will consider going that route with their early first round pick.
The Chiefs' preference is to develop their own franchise QB as opposed to reaching outside the organization. They persist in believing that Brodie Croyle could have a promising future, but much will depend on the draft grade of Matt Ryan.

McFadden playing for Kansas City would be pretty sweet.

                Random Chiefs news:

The player rep for prospective free agent Jared Allen says his client would love to play for the 49ers.
Allen is from California and at 6'6/270, would be a solid fit at end in Mike Nolan's 3-4. However, the Chiefs won't let him get away. Allen will be franchise tagged later this month. The tender for DEs is $8.9 million.

An unnamed NFL player told the K.C. Star that his team's entire game plan one week in 2007 was to run directly at Chiefs DE Tamba Hali.
Hali is productive by the numbers, but his strength has been questioned from day one in the NFL. It seems he has a long way to go versus the run. The Chiefs definitely can't allow free agent RE Jared Allen to get away. Letting the double teams Allen draws go to Hali's side could be a disaster.

Larry Johnson told the NFL Network's Adam Schefter Wednesday that his foot is "100 percent," and that he'll be a full go for OTAs.
The Chiefs break for Offseason Team Activities this spring. Johnson says he's excited about new offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, who plans to use L.J. like Gailey did Jerome Bettis in Pittsburgh. Gailey coordinated the Steelers' offense in 1996 and 1997. Bettis was an All-Pro those two seasons, rushing for a combined 3,096 yards on 695 carries (4.45 YPC).

Jared was on KK's show talking greasy yesterday.

Said he wants to stay in Kansas city and win a championship.

He sounded upset about the franchise tag *CARL PETERSON IS DUMBASS AND COMPLETLEY INEPT*

He also said he's completley bought in to Herm and feels like he can get the chiefs to where they want/need to be.

Trent Green just got cut and appears to be done playing. What pick did we get for him? I still say we should bring him back to be the QB coach and get rid of Dick Curl or whatever his name is.

1st pick in the 5th round is what it ended up being.

Trent has a long career of TV analysis ahead of him.

                          Marty Booker also was cut.

Could be a nice BIG reciever to help Bowe while being a somewhat viable target for us.

No way Jose'. Marty is not a big receiver. He's 6'0" tall, besides, the dude is old in NFL terms. He'll be 32 at the start of next season. He is not the answer. I'd rather the Chiefs find a hidden gem in the draft i.e. Marques Colston than take a chance on an old fart like Marty.

I wasn't talking about him being the "Answer", but rather a large body with descent hands that hasn't played in an adequate offense in several years. He has to be better than the players on the bench that couldn't even run a proper route. He is experienced, and could probably be signed very cheap.
