What I’ve taken from this is Wushock16 is a big bandwagon fan of successful teams from 2010ish era. Either that, or he likes the ass fan bases… ;)

I’d also dispute the “ass fanbases.” Every fanbase has bad apples in it, including our beloved Shockers. Some groups obviously moreso than others.Last edited by WuShock16; July 15, 2023, 08:05 PM.78-65

I don't know if it helped our team, but here is an example of worst call. Coaching AYSO soccer in the 10-12 year old age division (I think that's what it was).
This is 8 man (or boy) soccer including goalie. We played a STRICT 2-2-3 (+ goalie). What strict under my guidance means is that my midfielders and defenders were NOT PERMITTED to cross midfield under any circumstances. Like, ever. We had another rule. You score a goal, you sub out or sub with a midfielder or defender. This was my way of teaching the kids to play a lot of different positions. So on any potential attack the best we were going to throw at the opponent was two potential goal scorers who really had to work together to score goals. So we run into another team who just runs every player on their team down our end of the field. And it is not going well. I always kept one or two big kickers/ball clearers on the defensive end for safe/fast clear outs of the ball to one of our two strikers who were usually hanging around midfield, you know, waiting. And that's what happened. We had 4 or 5 different boys score a goal in the first half and the boys are just, you know, playing soccer and winning 5-0 and the other coach is just this obnoxious man who is constantly screaming at the kids about what to do and where to go on the field.
So here comes the worst call ever. The official hands one of our strikers a yellow card and I was just sitting in the grass watching all of this because it would just be weird to have two adult men screaming at kids about what to do and where to go. I really wasn't sure what was going on, and there was no rough play or anything, but one of the boys ran over and said he got a yellow card because the official told all of our players they were not allowed to score any more goals. And if they didn't cease, he was might start giving red cards.
Well, I was pretty upset, obviously, so I ran across Stryker fields in the opposite direction looking for the AYSO Director who was usually on site Saturday mornings. I found him eventually and basically said, can you please follow me, we have a little problem. And I explained to him and had him watch what was going on. And at some point one of the least athletic kids you would ever see, one that could really have benefited from daily exercise if you know what I mean, scores a goal. Like, the only goal he is ever going to score ever until he loses some weight. He and his parents were so happy for him. And the official gave him a yellow card for scoring a goal.
Every boy on the team scored that game. The official and the AYSO Director had a lengthy talk after the game of which I was not privy to, thankfully, and I never saw the official again. And I never shook the hand of the other coach after the game, the only time I ever neglected to do so.
