My favorite poster was a guy named coldblooded but I think he got murdered and replaced by a robot. Like in the movies where there’s an evil robot double that’s perfect and everyone is deceived except the person who loved him the most whose all like “this isn’t cold, this is a robot from the future” and then they go find him in a closet somewhere just in time.

Your post made me a little sad. Will do some introspection later today and see if I can confirm I am still my real self.

The history is:

rec.sports.baseball.college -- this was where baseball was discussed before the web forum. Boyd Nation broke the NCAA RPI formula and all its special sauces. People hated WSU because of its success. Seem like in about 2000-2001 it died as all the forums started being made and monetized.

Then there was MVC Conference championed forum. It went for a while and then it went totally off the rails as all the fans were attacking each other and the MVC shut it down. I started off on it as Shocker Baseball on that forum.

I think the very first Shockernet forum was circa2001. I carried over the Shocker Baseball moniker. Then in 2005 when the next version of Shockernet came, somebody else grabbed "Shocker Baseball" before I could so I became "SB Shock"

RDR has an excel spreadsheet of all his account names. Sometimes he had arguments between his alter egoes.

It most definitely existed before 2005. I think that may be when it went from the EZ board to this, or something similar. I'm pretty sure '05 is when we all had the re-register and signup because that stuff was unable to be converted over. I'm not a technical mind but pretty sure I'm reasonably close on that.

You are correct. There was a great reset in 2005. I can confirm "The board" has been alive since '99. Others will confirm it was alive several years before that. Royal knows where all the bodies are buried... the dirty Silo Tech fan that he is/was.

But I believe he handled himself on SN fairly well. There were a lot of Shocker fans on VT that were asshats as well. That's what VT turned into at one time and was pretty much a nonstop pissing match mostly between CU and WSU with a few look at me types from UNI and SWOMO.

Pretty sure DJA was better on this board.

Can wholly confirm DJA was a Jekyll and Hyde poster, depending on which board he was on. Complete asshat on VT; relatively normal outsider on SN.

wsushox1 has a Twitter account and he routinely bags on this site. I guess after he got his degree up at KU, he got woke and this site made him broke.

I could swear he has posted here relatively recently. Safe to say he slowly drifted away from Shocker fanhood based on his behavior.

I believe that’s why he went to KU. Graduated and got a job in Memphis. I believe one of his last posts was talking about seeing WSU play there.

Somebody asked about haysdb earlier. The guy who used to own like 90% of the threads in the baseball forum. He moved STL I think, and just stopped following. This was a good many years ago.

I'll try to fill in the history as best I can remember . . .

Started the board on the BeSeen platform around '97. Eventually moved to EZBoard and was there for several years. Finally broke down and went to my own domain using phpBB board software. That lasted the longest. Gave the site to ShockBand, who gave it to Kai, who gave it to Kung Wu. At some point in the Kai/Kung years it was moved to vBulletin, and here were are.

Some of the early posters I remember (with apologies to those I will surely forget):
