Do you think that will work? I'd love to have ManGiant back!! Especially since he is still cashing paychecks with KU on them, why not!

This ought to be a B I G improvement KU!!
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

            It should, but two questions:

            1. How much did KU have to pay to get him, after already being on the hook for a bunch of money for ex-coaches.

            2. If he has any success, how long does he stay? He has 1 year at KC before jumping ship to Florida. 1 year at Florida before jumping for a head coaching gig. I guess KU doesn't care under the theory that if he has success and leaves they will be better off finding a new coach than they are now, though.

              Underwhelming IMHO.

The guy could barely win at Notre Dame. My dog could go 35-27 at Notre Dame, and she's a puppy AND she wouldn't have to schedule all the service academies.

If you can't win at Notre Dame, you're burnt toast at Kansas.

Disagree, this is a great hire.

Not sure if serious..... No coach has been successful at ND since Holtz. Oh, and averaging 7 wins and a bowl game 3 of 5 years would be pretty solid for a school like KU.

1.) KU received the $6M necessary for the buyout from 8 donors in Wichita.

2.) You nailed it. 1 year, 3 years, whatever, if he leaves it means he rebuilt some of his lost luster and took a better job. KU would be in a better place.

Still laughing, unconTROLLably, at the excitement of ku fans everywhere. Not winning at ND is EPIC FAILURE on a scale that makes Turner Gill appear to be a lock for the Coaching Hall of Fame. Every door, to every recruit is open. Money is NO object (and don't act all smarmy with your "8 donors from Wichita" comment) at ND and you should win all the time.

By the way, newsflash, KU's football program is a joke, the support is a joke and they will continue to be a joke with CW. But I couldn't care less, I just love to see fans like you get all worked up over the new hire like 10-2 seasons with BCS bowls are on the horizon. Wanna bet Coach Snyder bends the big boy over in Manhattan next year, and every other year he remains at the little apple? Charlie Weiss....lol. How many head coaches is Kansas paying for next year?

I had heard that KU's share of the penalties due from TAM and Mizzou for leaving the Big 12 would provide about $4 million bucks, but I have no idea if that is accurate or not. But for argument's sake let's say 8 donors are kicking the $6 million in. These guys are no doubt in a combined marginal Federal and State tax bracket of 40%. They will receive a charitable deduction for making these donations even though using the funds to make a $6 million dollar payoff to Turner Gill does not particularly seem to be a charitable activity. Therefore, these 8 donors are actually kicking in a net of about $3.6 million and their fellow taxpayers are subsidizing the remaining $2.4 million. As a taxpayer it really gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to be helping the Jaybirds out of this mess. Not.

The story goes that each kicked in $750k. Zenger met with them while appearing at a Golf Tourny in Hutch. The rest of your post just made my head hurt.

I used to care about the KU coaching search...then I took an arrow in the knee.

But now he's coaching at KU where he can cheat and recruit thugs. That's a big advantage over the standards that the ND boosters likely held him to.
