Do your June numbers include today? It's currently 99 and it's not even noon yet.

We've got a long way to go to hit the records, but it isn't even July yet. So far this summer has been a HOT sumbitch. Call me crazy, but overall, it seems like the humidity has been a little lower on most really hot days.

The summer of 1980 was most certainly memorable. It seemed like it would NEVER cool off. Getting that feeling this year, too.

All this after a pretty dang cold winter, too.

Good thing we got the new A/C got installed! ;)

I seem to recall that 1980 also had a cold winter.

I wasn't around for 80... We're showing 101 right now on the sign. I believe it's supposed to be 100+ the next three days as well before taking a small dip into the upper 90s for a couple then right back up. Although this IS Kansas, and that changes from hour to hour.

No it didn't. I figured I would just update the running totals each day.

Currently at 104 here. I think we'll be adding one more to June.

Three o'clock and 105. Still a chance to rise a couple of degrees... I'm thankful that my parents have a pool. I can see the girlfriend and I spending a lot of time there this weekend.

Seems like the entire YEAR has been above-average, since at least like February. I seem to recall April as being fairly ridiculous in particular.

Actually, I just looked it up, and in the first full week of April, we more-or-less hit 90 twice, and we hit 80 or above twice in flipping March. It sticks in my memory because my wife and I cancelled a couple of local spring camping trips because we didn't want to sleep in our sweat.

The quality of life in Kansas, if you like outdoor activities, is quite low. When you combine our weather with our lack of outdoor recreational opportunities and last-in-the-nation publicly-owned land, you end up with a co-efficient that's hard to match in any of the other 50 states.
