The Shocker Women's schedule is out:
On first glance the schedule appears to be step up from last year but in looking at last year's RPI's for the teams on this year schedule it looks like the schedule strength may be similar to last year overall.
Based on last year's RPI's (which may or may not be very relative) our non-conference schedule has an average RPI of 235 to 238 (depending on whether we get Chattanooga (66) or Wyoming (97) in the Northridge Tournament. The teams on our non-con schedule last year finished with an average RPI of 224.
The home portion is highlighted the opener with Arizona (123) and also includes George Mason (246), Santa Clara (274), Savannah State (327), UC Davis (138) and Texas Pan-Am (289). The home portion of the non-con schedule may be a little stronger with an average RPI of 233 vs last years 263.
On the road we have SIU-E (285), CS Northridge (333), Chattanooga (66) or Wyoming (97), South Dakota (296) and Central Michigan (213).
Of course, the actual RPI's for this years schedule remains to be seen. BTW, the Shocks finished last year with an RPI of 155.
They won't win them all, but there are not any games on their schedule that are sure losses.
Of course, if they want to play in the NCAA Tournament at Intrust Arena next March they will need to win the MVC Tournament as the MVC is sure to be a one-bid conference in women's BB.
