She might have one the best resumes of any assistant coach at Wichita State.

How many coaches do we have that have been on a Wheaties box?

Her resume as a player is so good it is almost unbelievable. Take the time to read it.

Kerensa is retiring from coaching and looking toward a career in business.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Gordon sounds like a very good hire for us. Maybe she can add a little of that Tennessee swagger to our teams. I wouldn't care at all if they modeled the Shocks after the Volunteer teams.

Jody has taken some good steps towards turning the program around, and this coming year should be an important one.

Jody coming from the Tennessee system not only has the benefits of the national championship she got there and the knowledge she gets from Pat Summitt, but that coaching tree makes all the difference in the world in being able to hire assistants like Gordon out of that same system.

Can't hurt recruiting to have a combined 3 national championship rings and a Olympic gold metal on the coaching staff.

Good article on Coach Gordon in the paper:

Also, make note of the side menu that notes that Jody is optimistic not only of getting a game against Tennessee, but getting them to come to play in Wichita at IBA.

Excellent. We need more, not less, of that big time thinking.

I will be very interested to see what Coach Gordan can do with our young interior players, Jaz, Chynna, Michelle and the incoming 6'4" Shannika Bryant out of Chicago.

Jody will be working with her first full roster since joing the Shocks and in addition to a nice core of returning players we have another nice group of 6 incoming players.

I am hoping the return of Alicia Sanchez to action and the addtion of Hutch Juco transfer Heather Robben (via Maize HS) will shore up our perimeter shooting.

We have a couple of athletic incoming frehsman guards out of Dallas to go along Haleigh, Sheena and Jessica.

Jaz and Michelle made great strides lasty year, although Chynna seemed to hit a wall toward the end of the season. I'm not expecting that Shannika will contribute a whole lot this year, although she does bring some needed size to the roster. I think Chynna in particular is the kind of player that could benefit a great deal from Coach Gordon's tutelage.

With a full roster available to her HCJA should really be able to cut the ladies loose on defense this year.

I'm looking for a move into the top half of the MVC standings this year.

                            :goshocks:
