  • Lady Shocks at Missouri

The Shocks play a DH at Missouri (16-2) on Wednesday beginning at 3pm. Missouri is ranked #3. 'Nuff said ... so I will say, "This should be a good learning experience." :)

Well, also there are these results of interest, all wins: Missouri State (8-0 in 5), UMKC (9-3), Northern Iowa (3-0), Illinois State (3-1), Bradley (9-1 in 5),

Midweek game. You never know. Sometimes players seem to overlook midweek games.

          The GT link:

Katie gets the start for the Shocks, and we get Mizzou's #2 starter.

Kara is the DP again with Hayley at 2B. This lineup is the same one used against Rutgers. After much early season experimentation, is this the favored lineup?

GT is locked up in the bottom of the first. Here is a link to the audio.

Katie escapes a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the first by getting a pop up and ground out. Joined the audio late, so I do not how the bases became loaded.

And now GT is awake again. A single, HBP and infield single loaded the bases.

                Tigers are lighting us up.

3-0 and still batting in the bottom of the 3rd.

After six hits and five runs in the bottom of the third and with one out, Kasha comes in to relieve Katie.

Kasha yields a sac fly and it is 6-0, Tigers, after three.

That's supposed to be sung to "The Wheels on the Bus" children's song.

It is getting ugly. Looks like Kolb will have to finish this one and then come back and throw game 2?
That is why ou don't go into a season knowing you only have 1 pitcher and hoping your walk on can get it done. What would we have done if Katie had not come along?
