Lady Shocks at UT Arlington Classic

The Shocks play Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M on Friday, Prairie View and UT Arlington on Saturday, and the host again on Sunday.

Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M are members of the SWAC. The host Mavericks were 3-2 at the Baylor tournament last weekend, defeating the Shocks, 3-1. Texas Tech is also in this tournament, but we do not play them, probably because we go to Lubbock next weekend and play them twice in Tech's tournament.

But seriously, we should win 9 or 10 of our next 13 games. If we can't, then I have serious doubts that we are even good enough to make the Valley Tournament this year.

Well, they did play back to back so anyone with the team would not have had time to file any story or report before the second game started, but its been over for a couple hours now........And there is absoultly nothing on the Texas Arlington tournament site about anyone but TA

There has been rain scattered around the Metroplex - perhaps that is the issue.

Arlington, Texas - Due to raining conditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the UT Arlington Softball Classic has postponed all games schedule for today.

Steady rain in game one between Wichita State and Texas Southern stopped play heading into the sixth inning, with the Shockers leading 8-5.

Softball action will resume tomorrow morning at Allan Saxe Field with the first pitch schedule for 9 a.m.

Below are Saturday and Sunday's game times.

Saturday February 27

11:00 a.m. -- University of Texas-Arlington vs. Wichita State University

5 runs in 5 AB's scored by Texas Southern is a few more than I would like to see.

Nevertheless, a win is a win. Big grand salami by Heather helped the Shocks cause greatly.

Following the third schedule change of the tournament, on Sunday the Shocks will now play UT-Arlington at 10am and Texas Tech at 12pm.

The net effect for the tournament is that we replace one of our games against Prairie View A&M with a game against Texas Tech.
